Trait is a personality system in The Sims 4, similar to the trait system in The Sims 3. The personality system as a building block of Sims in The Sims 4 is a combination of trait from The Sims 3 and aspiration from The Sims 2.

Not much is known about the trait system in The Sims 4 yet. In How To Create Your Perfect Sim in The Sims 4 video[1] and E3 gameplay presentation[2], a number of traits have been shown. The number of traits that appear in the release version may be different. There are three kinds of traits in the game, i.e. normal traits, bonus traits, and reward traits.
