BioA little about Me My username is LostInRiverview, as you should know, considering that you are reading this on my user page. I will also respond to 'LIR' if you are so inclined to call me that, or by my real name (Patrick); other nicknames must be approved by me or an administrator :). My first introduction into the Maxis/Sims genre was in 1998, when I received, for my birthday, a copy of SimCity 2000. As a child, I was very interested in city design, an interest that I continue to have even today. I got SimCity 3000 in 1999 (just as soon as I had figured out how to play SimCity 2000), and was quite intrigued by one of the demos included in the autoplay menu, for some new game called "The Sims." Naturally, I forgot about it, until that day in February 2000 when I spotted the game while with my mom shopping (I was not yet 10 years old). I asked her if I could get it, and she reluctantly agreed, after I assured her that I would in fact play the game, and not just let it sit and collect dust. I've played The Sims series ever since, and have at one point or another owned every expansion pack for The Sims and The Sims 2. My playing recently has been interrupted by intrusions from my real life, as well as computer failures, tragic chair-related CD accidents, and college classes. Quick Facts: - My birthday is June 11th (Gemini) - I am from the United States - I attend a university in Wisconsin - I am currently a junior (3rd year) in college, majoring in Geography - Other computer games of interest include SimCity 4, the original RollerCoaster Tycoon (which I still play, even though it was released in 1999), a quaint little game called Populous: The Beginning (a mini playable demo of which was included in the aforementioned autoplay menu for SimCity 3000), and Spore (which was somewhat of a let-down). - When I was very young, I was obsessed with any Sonic the Hedgehog game for the Sega Genesis. Sonic is still my favorite video game character of all. Facts about me and The Sims - When playing The Sims series, I almost never play the pre-created families or use the pre-created neighborhoods when I can help it. I like building my own neighborhoods from the ground up. Incidentally, I have downloaded the Create-A-World tool, but it is proving very difficult to learn (if anyone can help me, please write me on my talk page; your help is appreciated!) - Because I almost never play the pre-created families or neighborhoods, I am, unfortunately, not as knowledgeable about the Maxis/EA created families as some other editors on this wiki are, so I am not as well-suited to edit Sim or family-related pages. - I am very interested in continued participation in this wiki, and in getting to know its editors. I feel that by participating in the wiki, I am helping to further other people's knowledge of the games, as well as my own. Well, that's about all I have to say right now. Please, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, and I'll try to respond in a timely manner. I am willing to help with fact verification (if you are unsure about something game-related, I can check it out for you), article editing and creation (I may not know everything about editing but I am eager to learn and already know how to do quite a bit), or just general problems or concerns. Not Quite a Riddle - This has been floating around for a while, but hopefully you haven't heard it or read it yet - It's one of my favorites. Again, if you know the answer, go to my talk page. Two old friends meet up in a restaurant over drinks of cold iced tea. The waiter delivers two teas, and the friends start drinking. The first friend is very thirsty and drinks his tea quickly. The second friend is there more to chat, and drinks his tea very slowly, enjoying the conversation. The second friend finishes their drink, then suddently drops to the floor, dead.
