In The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat, horseshoe pits can be bought in build mode under activities and skills. Sims can, once again, play a game of horseshoe with 2-4 other Sims who are within the lot. When a game of horseshoes is on, other Sims can either watch the current game and even join in the middle of the game as well, as long as the max limit of playing Sims hasn't been reached. They can also leave the game while it is going on. Sims can practice throwing horseshoes on their own, and other Sims can join in too, which will start a game. Once a game of horseshoes has started, the competing Sims will take turns with each turn having two chances at throwing. Playing Sims will seemingly play the game until the player manually stops them or their motives get too low.

After a game of horseshoes is over, competing Sims may get either an embarrassed, focused, sad, angry or confident moodlet depending on how the game went and whether they won or lost. Snob Sims may become bored from playing horseshoes.

Horseshoe pits can be found throughout the rental lots of Granite Falls, which may serve as a good way to entertain Sims, as many of the rental lots do not have electronics to keep the Sims occupied.

A ranger station is an object found in the campground neighborhood of Granite Falls, the vacation sub-world introduced in The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat. Ranger stations serve as a guiding point for inexperienced Sims who don't know much about Granite Falls. Reading camp information will make various tips and information regarding vacationing appear as notifications, while "Take Me to Lodging" will make a Sim travel back to their rental lot, and "Take Me to Bathroom" will make them travel to the nearest bathroom but only when their bladder is low enough. Choosing to explore the woods will take the player to the world map view of Granite Falls. Buying supplies is also a good way to gain essential camping objects that the player may not have on their rental lot.

Ranger stations cannot be normally bought in build mode unless the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat is used. Ranger stations have pretty much the same options available in normal residential worlds, except for "Take Me to Bathroom". Otherwise all the other interactions work the same as they do in Granite Falls.

The ranger station of the campground neighborhood is located near the center of the neighborhood, close to the wooden mascot statue.
