It seems that we've been somewhat negligent in the publication of this "weekly" blog. Hopefully this edition will remedy that problem! Without further ado, let's get to the news.
The Sims Universe news Edit
- Create a Sim trailer and news released
EA has released a new trailer showing off The Sims 4's new Create A Sim (video embedded below). SimGuruRyan has also posted a message in The Sims Community Blog on TheSims.com detailing all the changes to CAS. Here are some highlights:
- Sliders have been replaced with the ability to click-and-drag directly on a Sim to change their physical features. Additionally, more fine-tuned changes to the features can be made in "Detail mode."
- New "facial archtypes" have been added, allowing players to create Sims with unique facial structures that resemble real-life people from different parts of the world.
- New traits are being added to the game, including "bro," "glutton," and "materialistic" traits. Each trait interacts in different ways with a Sim's emotions.
- Walk styles are being introduced and can be selected in CAS. Different walk styles show off each Sim's uniqueness and personality.
- The game's genetics system has been updated.

- New TS4 promotion for TS3 players (rumored to be) in the works
SimsVIP.com is reporting on a possible cross-game promotion for The Sims 4. This promotion would allow The Sims 3 players to unlock certain items or rewards in The Sims 4 when it releases later this year. This has not yet been officially confirmed, but it's definitely worth watching for more news on this possible promotion.
- SimCity 4 for Mac available on Steam
A Mac-compatible version of SimCity 4 has finally been added to Steam. This release comes a couple months after Aspyr Media released a Mac-compatible version on the Mac App Store. Steam members who already own the Windows version of SC4 will already have access Mac version too. (Source: BeyondSims - article here)
The Sims Wiki news Edit
- Changes to Rollback user requirements
Applicants or nominees for Rollback rights on the wiki will no longer need to demonstrate a history of anti-vandalism activities. This change is the result of a community discussion, and is effective immediately. To find out more about what Rollback is, see here, and to apply for rollback rights, go here.
