Email

Hello there! I thought I should contact the entire admin team about this, since this is a little bit off-wiki but still, from what I and some contacted admins can see, an idea that could be beneficial for The Sims Wiki.

I am currently in the planning - almost creating - process of making an email account for The Sims Wiki. This account, while not needed extremely, could bring a large amount of positive things for the wiki.

Firstly, this is a smaller The Sims Wiki version of Special:Contact. Through this, we can send surveys to users about new features or ideas we implement. Do the users agree with a makeover of the Community Portal? Do the users want this policy to be added? What ideas do users have for the future?

Secondly, we can use this for more private, though still completely controlled, user reporting. If I see someone being rude to me and don't want to "look stupid" by reporting it to an admin, which some users do think, what do I do? I send an email through, and let an admin read it and check what's been going on. Note: This isn't a "I emailed first!" scenario, every user involved, included the sender, will be investigated.

Thirdly, and this is completely optional for users, they can "subscribe" to the newsletter. This will be where they allow us to send a monthly, if not bi-weekly, email, containing links to active votes and discussions, the Newsletter, open positions, new features, etc.

Now, I still have a lot of ideas on how to use this productively, but another reason I'm contacting all admins is to sort out something. I know that I may not be completely trusted by all of the admins to handle this alone so I am going to ask all admins who wish to join the project to say so on my talk page, and I will send the password to you once the email account is activated. Currently, I prefer as little users managing this account as possible, due to problems that may arise if all admins had access to the same account. I would appreciate only bureaucrats requesting the password if they like, but I still encourage admins to request it if they wish.

Please note that this account will not use my, or any other user's real account password, as that would be pretty dumb to hand out on a silver plate.

I hope you all read this and think about ideas and or reasons to oppose it.

Hi Bleeh, yes I changed your edit because an user change Spanish language instead Castillan and standar name is Spanish, only in Spain the language name is Castillan, but accidentally I do an old edit and deleted the Greenlandic. Intelligence. Men or Women

I know this doesn't have much to do with Sims Wiki, but there are some scientists and this guy who claim women are less intelligent than men. Oh every women's feature is riduculed in his website. I'll make a blog as an answer to his claims, and everything he exposed there will be denied with some supportive references and basis. It will be my answer, I will give by e-mail, so I may need suggestions as well to respond him. Feel free to expose what you feel in my future blog, and since you're a woman, who'll probably have much to say about like all of us. Sticky notes

Do you think you could get someone to bring back the things to do sticky notes??? I found them very useful. The random page button usually goes to an empty player stories page. Bellagoth 15:53, July 30, 2011 (UTC)

The sticky notes were in the top corner of the news feed. The would say something that had to be done, for example add a head shot to Alexander Goth. They would show a stub article that needed to be added to. Bellagoth 15:24, August 1, 2011 (UTC)

Bleeh, I've retired, but I felt I needed to leave some messages before I called it quits.

I think back to that random day when I decided that I would amble onto the #the_sims IRC channel and happened to find you there. I wonder, what would this whole wiki and this vibrant wiki community be like if not for that chance meeting? I thank you for that, more than anyone else. That isn't meant as a disservice to any of the others, but if it were not for you, I doubt that the community we have would ever have existed. Whatever this thing is, I wouldn't worry too much. I've set the IRC channel so that noone can talk unless they're voiced. Whether this is Archie or 4chan (or possibly both) is a different issue and his Comcast IP has been banned. As a precaution, I've blocked the IP on the wiki as well, so that the attacker can't do anything. Again, don't worry about it as I'm sure it was just an empty threat. Hello Bleeh! I haven't chatted with you since like... a long time. So I wanted to say hi. I also wanted to ask you something, seeing as you might have a solution.
