Some questions

Hi and thank you for helping create Sim articles of The Sims 4 Sims, as well as uploading their images! Since you seem to have the game, may I ask you a thing? Do Sims and households still have descriptions that tell their biographies? Nikel _{Talk – Vote!} 11:53, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

Hey Nikel. Yeah I have the game. Thank you for the kind words. As for your question about bios for sims and households, individual sims don't seem to have their own bios like in previous Sims games and the only way to check family descriptions is when you manage the families (bit of a pain really). At This point Johhny Zest would be the only Sim's 4 individual with his own bio since he is the only resident of his household ergo household/sim page together. Hope this clears things up. I'm been working on making the family pages for the Sim's 4 and moving on to work on individual Sims soon. I'm not a complete newbie at editing, but I'm not perfect either so any help would be appreciated. :) Vanherrmann (talk) 23:53, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

Point of view

I've noticed that several of your edits are written in second-person point of view. However, as dictated by our style rules, articles on The Sims Wiki are written from a third-person point of view. It is important to remember, when writing articles or editing articles on the wiki, that you are not in the game but are outside the game, just as other players are also not in the game. So, when you write a section like "You can catch some rare frogs and fish in this area to add to your collections," remember that you, as the author of that section, are speaking to other players who cannot themselves actually capture rare frogs; their Sims can. So, when writing about actions that Sims can take (even if directed to do so by the player), write as if the actions are being performed by the Sims, not the players. The exception to this is when writing about something that a player can do but a Sim cannot. In any case, the use of the word "you" in articles on the wiki is almost universally discouraged.

Not a problem. Will keep this in mind. I been cranking the pages out too quickly, so I may hold back for a bit for page edits to occur on the Willow Creek neighbourhoods to see final feedback etc, then slowly work on Oasis Springs. Collecting skill

I have a question. Is Collecting a regular skill, just like other skills? Or is it a hidden skill or otherwise something that isn't visible in the game? Nikel _{Talk – Vote!} 13:57, September 16, 2014 (UTC)

Hey there. Collecting something counts towards the whole family. If anything it's more of an achievement extra as it doesn't appear in the skill bar menu, but in the inventory. This is one reason I hadn't put an icon/thumbnail for it cause I saw someone added it to the SkillTable3 template, but as far as I can tell, it's really not a skill in itself. I added it to the {{SkillTable3}} template in the first place because I used the {{Skills}} template as a reference. If I recall correctly, you were the one who updated the Skills template? Anyway, since Collecting is technically not a skill, I suppose it should no longer be considered as one (wherever it's applicable, like the SkillTable3 and Skills template).

Neighborhoods in Willow Creek

Hey! I have a question. Where did you get the names of neighborhoods in Willow Creek? For example, Foundry Cove.--Vínci ^(talk) 03:57, September 21, 2014 (UTC)

Heya :) The names I got for the neighbourhoods were listed in the Sims 3 Collectors edition's Creator Guide that was released in Europe/Australia. Oh! So this is a limited information after all? I have a bad potential about separate neighborhood pages. For now, the neighborhood names might be covered in the guide, but what if EA releases more worlds? There's still possibility, of course, that they would release a Prima Guide for it, patch the game so the neighborhood names will show up, or a fan site somehow figure it out, or possibly none at all. Yeah that's understandable. If push comes to shove, the separate neighbourhoods can just all go on the one page and we can move the lots there into neighbourhood sections and the page cover/neighbourhood bio pictures go to the gallery so Willow Creek/ Oasis Springs can be fuller. It's difficult with base games, cause in the past, they do add a whole lot of content in the first few expansion packs, but of course they haven't released any information on them yet haha. Do what you feel necessary. I'll upload more lot pics for Oasis Creek when we decide where to go. As I've said earlier, I was using Willow Creek as a practice to see what gets changed/discussed before working on Oasis Springs. Vanherrmann (talk) 23:05, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
