Ashley is extremely outgoing, but also extremely grouchy; thus, even though his aspiration is Romance, he hates flirting, hugging, and other romantic social interactions. He is also very sloppy. His major interests are sports, health, and money. He does not like school, politics, animals, weather, or the paranormal.
According to his biography, he is often found staring at himself at the mirror, and described to stare at his reflection "for hours". When the fraternity is first played, Ashley is 49 hours away from the final exam in his third semester.
In order to improve his class performance, Ashley needs to reach level 2 of the mechanical and logic skills. Ashley's last name, "Pitts" possibly refers to him being "in the pits", a metaphor for being unhappy. Ashley-Pitt was the surname of David McCallum's character in the 1963 film The Great Escape. Like several other Sims from Sim State University, Ashley starts off with no gender preference.
