Celebrity Status is a new feature in The Sims 3: Late Night. It is reminiscent of Fame in The Sims: Superstar.

A Sim's Celebrity Status is displayed by 1 to 5 stars. Sims must perform certain tasks and brag about themselves in order to gain a higher Celebrity Status[1]. The neighborhood already has celebrities and one way to launch your way into stardom is to befriend other celebrities. Celebrity NPC's are distinguished by having a gold star over their heads[1].

You don't need to be in the new Film career to become famous. Any Sim can become a celebrity[2].

If a Paparazzi catches you fighting another Sim you may be fired from your job. You can however drag the Paparazzi to court.[2].

When you get really famous you may recieve free stuff, such as free groceries[2], free drinks[1] and access to exclusive bars and clubs where other celebrities hang out[1].

Ways to gain celebrity status

If you are at the top of your career you will gain celebrity status faster[2].
