The Sims 2: Bon Voyage and The Sims 3: World Adventures are both based on the concept of traveling, but there are several differences. The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat and The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure game packs have include one traveling destination of their own.

- Multiple hotels of various cost and standard; World Adventures merely contains one no-cost base camp.(replaced by resorts in The Sims 3: Island Paradise.)

- Unsavory Charlatan
- Local dance styles (Hula, Slap dance)
- Voodoo doll (returns as premium content in The Sims 3 Store)
