Dusty Hogg is a Sim found in The Sims Bustin' Out, The Urbz: Sims in the City, The Sims 2 for Nintendo DS and The Sims 2 for Game Boy Advance. He is the son of Helen "Mamma" Hogg.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Dusty Hogg is a world-class biker and ex-professional wrestler. He also used to work in construction and illegal odd jobs to earn a living, which has gotten him into numerous encounters with the law.

Dusty is a mean-spirited and unsympathetic person who is easy to anger. He looks down on those who are weak and timid, thinking them incompetent. However, he respects those who are strong and fearless, and can open up his friendlier and more generous side to those people.

Dusty, being a stereotypical biker, is into fast living and fast life, and as such is into activities that are potentially dangerous or controversial, such as gator wrestling.

In The Sims 2 for handheld, however, his aggressive side has practically vanished and he is a more relaxed person. This is possibly because he has his mother living with him, and so is pressured to be nicer towards others.

The Sims Bustin' Out (handheld)[edit | edit source]

Story[edit | edit source]

In Mission 2, Dusty and his biker friends are passing by SimValley when Dusty's bike suddenly breaks down and crashes, and he and his friends hole up at the local watering hole, the Burning Spoke. The player is first tasked by Uncle Hayseed to get rid of the bikers as they have left their bikes blocking the road out of town. After calming Dusty down, the player fixes his bike and returns him his helmet. The player also runs a few more errands for Dusty such as tending the bar at the Burning Spoke and repainting his bike. To show his appreciation, Dusty has his friends clear the road of their bikes and he also gives the player his training scooter.

Even though his bike is repaired, Dusty decides to stick around SimValley for longer and is most commonly found hanging out in the Burning Spoke. He may also occasionally be found doing time in the jail.

Social[edit | edit source]

Dusty has a Mean personality type, meaning he responds well to Mean (3 Nice or less) and Outgoing Sims (Outgoing 7 or more). Sims will gain +1 relationship point for each interaction if they have one of these traits (these points stack).

Rejectable Interactions[edit | edit source]

If his relationship is not high enough, these options will result in a loss of relationship points.

Flirtatious options are only available to Sims of the opposite gender.

I'm sorry the speed limit is so low around here. I once saved a girl from a wild coyote. I hear bandana prices are dropping. Wicked tattoos bro. So three naked bikers walk into a bar... Mess with me and you'll find sugar in your gas tank! I heard Olde Salty has a fondness for pepper. I've been into alligator wrestling for a while now. Psst! I only sleep two hours a night.
Sorry... I didn't mean to stare at you. A rattlesnake bit me last year, but I lived. Motorcycling is not a crime! You remind me of my favorite pro wrestler. What's the difference between a biker and a bar of soap? Cross me and I'll tell everyone you still live with your parents. I hear the bartender waters down his root beer. I once had a subscription to Motorbike Monthly. Psst! Did you know Vitamin A makes you jump higher?
I own a motorized unicycle. Ah, life on the road... It's the only way to live. Your voice is so smooth... You must be a tenor! So a trucker, a cab driver, and a lawyer were having lunch... I'm going to let the air out of your tires if you don't pipe down. I hear the pet store girl has six fingers. I've always been fascinated by sand dunes. Psst! I have no memory of my life before this.

Can you ride with no hands? You big galoot. I don't think your catalytic converter is working properly. You aren't fit to ride a tricycle. Weren't you a rodeo clown once?
Motorcycles are just too loud, you know? I think you'd look better in a beret. You get the name 'Hogg' from your momma? Why does your bike have a barbeque scented air freshener?
I hope that's not a real leather coat. Could you stop talking so loudly? Is that a picture of a crying kitten on your jacket? I hope those aren't new jeans, tough guy.

The Urbz: Sims in the City (handheld)[edit | edit source]

After moving to Miniopolis, he meets his old construction friend Ewan Watahmee, and they open a garage in Urbania. Most of the time Dusty can be found inside the Chopper Garage or loitering outside. He will also occasionally be found at the Slice O' Life pizza bar, hospital, or behind bars at the jail.

In Mission 2, Dusty and Ewan are trying to open a motorcycle racing track in Urbania and Dusty tasks the player with raising §500. After this, the player is free to race bikes to earn Simoleons.

In Mission 3, the player is trying to rebuild the Xizzle Factory and Ewan tells the player that Dusty is a genius with engines. Dusty agrees to help rebuild the factory on the condition that the player beats Dusty in a race. When the player does beat Dusty, he is impressed by the player's ability and gives the player his custom-made chopper.

In Mission 4, Dusty plays Daddy Bigbucks in a satirical stage play written by Theresa Bullhorn.

In Mission 5, Dusty makes a minor appearance in the Atlantis Premiere Party.

The Sims 2 (Game Boy Advance)[edit | edit source]

Dusty once again returns but now with his mother, Mamma Hogg, in Strangetown. He appears in many of the game's missions and also in the "episode introduction" cut scene that occurs before each episode. He can usually be found in his house.

He is the first sim that the player meets after Daddy Bigbucks, where the player has to say hello to him and complete a friendly interaction. He will set up a welcoming party for the player set at the saloon, where he introduces Honest Jackson, Tank Grunt, and Ara Fusilli to the player.

In "Buried By the Mob," Dusty's freezer door in the saloon is broken. Fixing it (requires 1 mechanical skill) will complete the hidden want for this episode.

"Aliens Arrived" begins with Dusty Hogg talking to the player about constructing dirt tracks when a strange-acting Tank Grunt walk up to them and asks him to kidnap Kayleigh Wintercrest because his "love to her is hugeness" and definitely not for secret nuclear access codes. The player and Dusty will go to visit Kayleigh and tell him that Tank wants to meet her immediately. Upon seeing the gift that Tank left for her, Kayleigh will make Dusty and the player go to the barracks to talk to Tank. It will be revealed that there are two Tanks, one being an alien. For a moment after the reveal, Dusty will be convinced that Tank had been an alien all along. Kayleigh will make Dusty then go to the canyon in order to find any aliens in disguise. At the end of the episode, he shows up next to Kayleigh and Tank, who are watching the aliens return to their ship. Dusty runs into the spaceship, and then a second Dusty, clearly an alien in disguise, shows up.

Also, episode "The New Cola" begins with Dusty as well. He is having a conversation with Ava Cadavra about ladybugs. He believes that a million ladybugs are, in fact, pests and hates how they get everywhere. When the player and Tank become big again, Dusty is talking about a traumatic experience with ladybugs. He asks where Tank and the player had been, only to dismiss Tank by saying that he tells stupid stories. The player and Ava leave, and Tank forces Dusty to drink the cola.

In "Triassic Trouble," the player has to get some dinosaur bones from Mamma Hogg, who plans to make a soup out of them. She says the only way she'll give up the dinosaur bones is if Dusty is allergic to them. So, the player must figure out a way to get him to pretend to be allergic to dinosaur bones. He also helps arrange the dinosaur bones into a full structure at the end of the episode.

Dusty is part of the errand for "The Doomed Earth," where the player must deliver a shark jaw from Auda Sherif to him.

In "It All Came to an End," Dusty and Ara run up to the player after Optimum Alfred was destroyed, talking about how it was Tristan Legend who build him.

You can talk to Dusty in the final episode, "A Very Special Reunion," where he will tell the player that his mom had moved back to SimValley but be excited that he no longer has a curfew.

For 150 aspiration points, the player can purchase a custom chopper built by Dusty Hogg. Compared to the chopper in The Urbz: Sims in The City, this one is less sleek, has a dirtier engine, and has saddlebags on the side.

The Sims 2 (Nintendo DS)[edit | edit source]

Dusty appears as a guest in The Sims 2 for Nintendo DS. He does not have a role in the story.

In this game, his hair is noticeably shorter, and he's a bit chubbier as well.

Dusty Hogg's secret from The Sims 2 (Nintendo DS):

  • Believes the fewer wheels on the vehicle, the bigger the man; wants a unicycle.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Stole the Burning Spoke sign when he left SimValley.
  • He bears a striking resemblance to Chet Crawley, A sim from The Sims 2 on PSP. They both have similar clothes and hats, and similar beards. However, Chet doesn't wear sunglasses, and Chet is thinner than Dusty.
  • There is an unused episode in The Sims 2 (GBA) labeled "Shark Jumping" where the player would take the role of Dusty Hogg. A cutscene of Dusty Hogg riding his motorcycle over a shark tank can still be found in the game's files.
