Chieko Aimi was born in 2000 to Chieko Sakura, though Aimi was unwanted by her grandfather, Gaku. Aimi was taken to an orphanage where she was taken in. Aimi was given the name Akiko. Akiko was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Jo in 2002.
In 2016, Mr and Mrs Jo revealed to Akiko that she was adopted. Akiko was not surprised, and always had her suspicions. Mr and Mrs Jo gave details to Akiko for her to find her mother. Akiko thanked Mr and Mrs Jo, and left Japan for good.
Akiko travelled Variety, looking far and wide, searching all the Chieko's in Variety. Akiko visited each one, until finally she was left with her last Chieko, Sakura. Sakura was living peacefully when unexpectedly one day, she received a phone call from overseas. The voice asked if Sakura was there. Sakura asked who was calling, the voice revealed she was going to see her very soon. Several days later, a young girl called Akiko Jo arrived on Sakura's doorstep. Sakura did not know who Akiko was as she was so heavily faked up in hair dye, makeup and smile. Sakura tried to turn her away, but Akiko kept on insisting that she was her daughter. Sakura finally allowed Akiko into her house. Akiko revealed that she wasn't killed by Gaku, she was put into an orphanage, many miles away from Simgoya. Akiko told Sakura she had no where to stay and requested to stay with her. Sakura agreed and let her stay. The two did not get on well, however, but with no place to stay, they stayed where they were.
