Charlotte's arrival in Bridgeport was marked by her swift seduction of the famous singer, Tom Wordy. Charlotte, believing that the affair was a permanency, was aggrieved to realise that she was just a pawn in Wordy's one-night stand. She gave birth to a son (out of wedlock) nine months later named Leonard Fabaucher, who was put up for adoption due to Charlotte's insufficient funds, and to avoid a public scandal.
This scandal, however, came nevertheless; Fabaucher was humiliated across Bridgeport for her actions and was reduced in high society from the object she was, to the bedside of Devin Ashton, aspiring actor.
Due to severe weather conditions, the planned public wedding ceremony of Ashton and Fabaucher could not occur, but instead happened within their own apartment. It was followed by some intimacies, but was nothing glamorous.
Charlotte was impregnated and later gave birth to a son named Janes, yet Devin died the same day.
