History[edit | edit source]

George Turner was born on a Wednesday in the spring of 1891 at 10:45 AM. He was the oldest of six children born to Sam Turner and Minnie Turner. He had five younger siblings: Julia (1893), Matilda (1896), Freddie (1898), Roy (1898), and Calvin (1901). His parents bred frogs, fished, and gardened for money, which brought in some decent money for the family. George was a model child who looked after his younger siblings and earned good grades in school. He also played the violin for a brief period in his childhood.

During his childhood he would often watch his mother cook and became fascinated with it. As a teenager he would cook family meals while his mother was gardening and his father was out working. After leaving high school, he married Sofia Bjergsen in a private ceremony on the back of the family lot in 1909. He and Sofia moved to Brindleton Bay, where George's father originally came from, and purchased a home there following their marriage. The two adopted a creme-and-orange American Shorthair named Cambridge.

Sofia became pregnant quickly into their marriage, and in 1911 the two welcomed a son together, Henry.
