​Kaiya is the daughter of Teodor Medina and Bianca Medina, sister of Leonardo and half sister of Palmira, granddaughter of Patrizio and Isabella and fiancee of Joseph Morgan.

She is the youngest daughter of Bianca and Teodor Medina. They never planned having another child after their first son, Leonardo as Teodor believed that they were too old to have anymore children.

Oddly enough, Kaiya had a rocky relationship with her father due to the reasons of jealousy that he spent so many hours with his other daughter, Palmira during her teenage years. Kaiya eventually understood the reason after he biological mother abandoned her when she was 3 years old. She no longer has any bad feelings with her father or Palmira.

During the hard times of the relationship with her father, she met her current boyfriend, Joseph. They started dating since Year 9 and have gotten engaged since and plan to be married within the next 5 years.
