Mercutio Monty
Biography
Good-natured and warm, Mercutio has always been the joker of the family, but how much of his good humor is real and how much of it is just his way of coping?
Mercutio Monty is the eldest son of the late Claudio Monty, who was himself the eldest son of Patrizio Monty, and the current head of the Monty crime family. He lives in Veronaville with his wife Bona, daughter Amanda, and younger brother Romeo.
Humor has always been Mercutio's defining characteristic, so it's no surprise that he's used it to cope with everything bad that has happened in his life, particularly deaths in the family. He has been enjoying dark humor more and more ever since the death of his grandparents and entering the family business that claimed his father's life.
Despite his responsibilities to the Monty family, Mercutio used to date Miranda Capp. However, they broke up after the current leadership of the Monty crime family targeted her mother. Mercutio did his best to salvage the situation, but Miranda refused to give him a second chance, and the rejection left Mercutio feeling a bit raw. Those feelings have largely subsided with the years and his recent wedding, but he is still wary of Miranda.
Mercutio has been involved in several physical fights with his Capp archenemy Tybalt. So far, none of these has gone well for Mercutio.
Although Mercutio's father is named as the youngest of Patrizio and Isabella's children in the canon Veronaville, I decided that it would make more sense for him to be the eldest given the relative ages of his siblings Antonio and Bianca and those of Mercutio's generation.
