Meredith Moore is a single Sim living in Oasis Springs. Her family simply includes her parents, Nick and Elizabeth Moore. Meredith doesn't work in a normal career. Instead, she runs her own businesses, which are a thrift store called Moore Stuff & Things and a boarding house out of her own home. Her current tenants are Jackie Rose, Janet Parker, and Brandon Girard.

Life History[edit | edit source]

Background[edit | edit source]

Meredith is born as the only child to her parents, Nick and Elizabeth Moore. At some point, Meredith moves out of her parents' home and moves to Oasis Springs at Dusty Turf, Parched Prospect. While living there, Meredith opens up her own thrift store and aptly calls it Moore Stuff & Things. She also converts her home into a boarding house for three tenants. However, neither of these things seem to be impressing her parents all that much.

The Sims 4: Get to Work[edit | edit source]

Meredith's current tenants are Jackie Rose, a single lady who works as a cop; Jackie's niece Janet Parker, a young and aspiring scientist; and Brandon Girard, a suave single doctor and Meredith's latest tenant.

One morning following Meredith's approval of Brandon moving in, she tries to cheer Jackie up over her break-up with some man named David Wren. Meredith tells Jackie that she'll get over the break-up because she is stronger than she thinks. Meredith also tells Jackie about how she and Janet missed Brandon moving in with them yesterday. While Meredith doesn't introduce them to each other, Jackie eventually meets Brandon during breakfast.

About a day later the next morning while Meredith is cooking breakfast, Brandon asks her if he can use her bathroom because someone else is using the main bathroom. Meredith tells him no because she explicitly explained when he moved in is that the only rooms that are strictly off-limits are her bedroom and her bathroom. Brandon doesn't take the information well and uses Meredith's bathroom anyway, unknown to Meredith. Later in the day, she goes to her thrift store. Upon arrival, Meredith thinks about hiring someone for some extra help, but she goes about working the store and helping the customers by herself.

The next morning, Meredith is told an abduction story by Janet. While the events did happen, Meredith suggests to Janet that she simply dreamed it. Another morning later, Meredith begins to suspect someone else is using her bathroom. As a result, she locks her bathroom so only she can get into it and reminds Jackie and Brandon about her rules about not using her bathroom.

A couple days later, Meredith has to fix the main shower after someone breaks it. All she knows is that either Jackie or Janet broke it because Brandon never used it that morning. Although, Meredith suspects he showered somehow as she is fixing it. She asks Brandon how he showered that day and he explains that he never got a chance because it was broken. So, Brandon quells Meredith's suspicion by taking a shower. Later that evening, Meredith has a chat with Jackie. Jackie tells Meredith about her worries that Janet is working herself into isolationism because of her alien fantasies and the lack of people she talks to. Jackie then asks Meredith if she can take Janet with her to the thrift store so she can meet people. Meredith agrees on the basis that they've known each other for four years and she considers Jackie and Janet as friends.

During breakfast the next morning, Meredith explains the benefits of going to her store to Janet after she is told by Jackie and after going on a small fit about not being a child. After breakfast, Janet reluctantly joins Meredith to the thrift store to help out. Meredith explains Janet the basics of Moore Stuff & Things and shows her first dollar to Janet. As the day progresses, Meredith trusts Janet enough to run things alone as she does some work in her office. At the end of the day, Meredith asks Janet how her day went. Janet lies that it helped clear her head of fantasies. Meredith then jokingly states that Janet should work for her everyday instead. Janet shoots the idea down by stating that she can't do it all the time.

Another day later, Meredith finds out someone else is still using her bathroom when she cleans up a puddle. Her solution is to lock her bedroom as well and remind Jackie, Janet, and Brandon about her two simple rules again. A few days pass and Meredith suspects the person who has been using her bathroom stopped until her shower breaks for no apparent reason. She fixes her shower, but she refuses to retaliate until she catches the person in the act.

Another few days later, Meredith returns to her store to run it. She finally decides to hire someone for extra help around the store. She hires a young man named Emil Martinez. Meredith intially assigns Emil to answer customers' questions. Then, when Meredith checks in on Emil, she assigns him to check customers out. Emil's work ethic impresses Meredith and by the end of the day, she gives him praise.

On the next day Meredith opens her store, she assigns Emil to restock some sold out items. On that same day, Meredith gets a surprise visit from her mother, Elizabeth. Meredith welcomes her mother with a warm heart before asking her what she is doing at the store. Elizabeth explains that she came so she could discuss Meredith's love life, which is to say that she doesn't have one at all. Peeved, Meredith tells Elizabeth that she doesn't need a love life because she is happy with her current one. Meredith then reassigns Emil to help with Elizabeth. Meredith takes over with restocking items before retreating to her office.

Some hours pass when Meredith finally leaves her office. She asks Emil if Elizabeth is gone and he says yes. Meredith swiftly thanks Emil for his help. She then explains to Emil how she doesn't have a love life and how her parents are badgering her into getting one lately even though she doesn't want one. Emil sympathizes with Meredith's situation because he doesn't have a love life either. Before closing the store, Meredith suggests to Emil that he should visit her and her tenants some time. Emil appreciates the gesture and agrees to do so soon.

Despite being peeved at her mother, Meredith begins to wonder if Elizabeth is actually right about being disappointed in not having a love life a couple days later. In any case, later that same morning, Meredith and Janet learn from Jackie that she's dating her boss, Advik Meshram. While Meredith is happy for Jackie, after she leaves, Meredith tells Janet that she should talk to Jackie about the possible consequences of dating a superior because they're family. Janet tells Meredith no for that reason, but she does so anyway.

A few days later, Meredith finally catches the person who's been using her bathroom in Brandon. She yells at him and warns Brandon that she will kick him out if she catches him breaking her rules again. Later into the evening, Meredith interrupts Jackie and Janet's private conversation to state that they're going out on a ladies night. She says she is doing this because she wants a man, she thinks Janet needs a man, and she knows Jackie's relationship with Meshram won't last. Janet goes along with Meredith's plan, but Jackie is reluctant. Nevertheless, all three of them head to the Cactus Juice Bar for ladies night.

Over their drinks, Meredith reassures Jackie that she will thank Meredith for doing ladies night because Jackie will find a rebound man. However, Jackie disagrees with Meredith. Sometime into the night, Meredith bumps into Emil at the bar and so she subsequently introduces him to Jackie and Janet. Eventually, Meredith leaves Emil with Janet when they hit it off. She heads back to the bar where she meets a fellow patron, Derek Goodwin. Meredith also hits it off with Derek and she offers to buy him a drink. They flirt for a little bit and they exchange numbers before Derek has to leave. Near the end of the night, Meredith finds Jackie playing games alone and asks what's wrong. Jackie tells Meredith that she is happy with Meshram and that ladies night was useless for her. Seeing Jackie's truth, Meredith decides it's time to head home.

The next morning at breakfast, Meredith apologizes to Jackie for dragging her to ladies night. Jackie accepts the apology and then Meredith heads to her store. She tells Emil that she saw him and Janet hanging out together at the bar last night. Meredith then suggests that Emil should get together with Janet. Emil explains he would, but he doesn't have Janet's number. Meredith offers Janet's number to Emil, much to his excitement. Right after, Meredith gets a call Derek where he asks her out. Not thinking clearly, Meredith accepts and suddenly promotes Emil to Senior Sales Associate before closing her store.

Meredith meets Derek at a different bar for drinks. They spend the afternoon getting to know one another and conversing. Before Derek has to leave again, Meredith invites him to her annual Winterfest party, a party that she throws for her tenants and anyone they invite. Derek says he'll be there. After he leaves, Meredith realizes that Winterfest is actually approaching, so she picks up a tree and gets the decoration box ready. Another morning passes and Janet thanks Meredith for giving her number to Emil. Then, after everyone leaves, Meredith begins rummaging for some decorations and sends out the invitations to the Winterfest party.

When Winterfest Eve approaches, Meredith decorates her house for the holiday. Later during dinner, Meredith tells Jackie, Janet, and Brandon that it's time to decorate the Winterfest tree. So, Meredith decorates the tree with her tenants after dinner. The next day, on Winterfest Day itself, Meredith wishes Jackie, Janet, and Brandon a Merry Winterfest over breakfast. After taking a shower, Meredith texts her parents, telling them the same thing.

Once the Winterfest party begins, Meredith welcomes Derek for coming. She also announces when it's time for dinner. After the party ends and Father Winter arrives, Meredith gets her gift from him. She also asks him if she will ever find permanent love. Father Winter responds with all in good time. A little later, Meredith opens her gifts from her tenants before singing 'We Wish You a Merry Winterfest' with them.

Meredith heads back to her store to open on the day following Winterfest. After seeing some cash come in, Meredith decides to buy a new register. Meredith also asks Emil if he liked the Winterfest party. Emil says he loved it, especially when it came to spending time with Janet. Meredith then tells Emil that she is rooting for him and Janet. And so, after closing up the store, Meredith heads home and suggests to Janet that she should call Emil. Although Meredith may not know about it, Janet does just that.
