History Edit
Minnie Carpenter was born in 1870 to a poor family in Brindleton Bay. Her family often bred horses though this did not garner them much money. In 1890, Sam Turner left his family to marry Minnie as his family did not approve of because she did not come from a wealthy family. Minnie and Sam came to know each other because the Turners would occasionally purchase horses from the Carpenters. Sam and Minnie eloped and moved to Newcrest, where they built a farmhouse and made plans to start a family.
She and Sam had six children together: George (1891), Julia (1893), Matilda (1896), Freddie (1898), Roy (1898), and Calvin (1901). She named her youngest Calvin after her father. Minnie was a loving and caring mother who would do anything for her children, despite how difficult parenting would become as her brood of children grew. Though she was unemployed, she gardened behind the farmhouse and sold the produce to other locals. She became well-known in the community for her quality produce and brought in a decent amount of money with her gardening. She was also a skilled cook, and was known to feed the hungry children who often didn't have enough to eat.
Following her oldest son marrying and moving to Brindleton Bay, her husband Sam brought home a Redbone Coonhound puppy whom the children named Bo.
