Oblivia Poe is an original sim (creation of LexxBlix/AedanStarfang) residing in Fanon:Newcrest in the Sims 4. She is a member of the eccentric and reclusive 'Poe Family,' and is friends with several original female sims, who were also roommates in the Sims 3 (console).

Biography[edit | edit source]

Life Leading up to the Sims 3[edit | edit source]

In the Sims 3 (Console), Oblivia was a young adult living in a house with five other girl roommates, in a small three-bedroom house in Moonlight Bay. This Oblivia was a loner and quite eccentric, she worked from home and often self-published fan works featuring herself and male sims she had fancied. She was friends with Andromeda Boolean, slightly friendly with Deirdre Carb and was enemies with Tiffani Rance, mostly due to the latter's mean trait.

During her stay at the girls' house, Oblivia became friends with Rain Leary, and had an unrequited crush on Cevin Faron. Neither of her brothers appeared during the Sims 3 (Console), though one could create and add them to a new household with Oblivia.

Life Leading up to the Sims 4[edit | edit source]

Before the start of the Sims 4, Oblivia was much the same as her Sims 3 (Console) counterpart. She was very eccentric (insane trait) and very much a loner. She continued to write smutty "friend fiction" about sims whom she knew and remained at home in Poe Manor (Hillside Highlands). She shares these in common with her fraternal twin brother Sombre, though he is more of a computer sim than a writing sim.

Before the start of the game, Oblivia is a teenager living with her two brothers at Poe Manor in Newcrest. She attends Buckingham High School and has several classes with Mason Wordsmith, and the two eventually found themselves enjoying one another's company. Not long after graduation (during the time Mason was staying at the Old Moneygrubb Manor at Midtown Meadows), Oblivia became pregnant with their first child Carver. Oblivia and Mason decided to keep their relationship and pregnancy as secret from the latter's hot-headed father, Ansel, who would most certainly disown Mason for such a scandalous affair.

Eventually Mason was forced to move back in with his father, at the new Moneygrubb Manor, now at Rippling Flats. During this time Mason had been submitting and self-publishing his own written works, and had built up enough acclaim to become a celebrity and earned a lucrative book deal. Mason and Oblivia came clean to Ansel, who while surprised was otherwise happy and enthused with the revelation, and gave them his blessing. Mason proposed to Oblivia, and the two were hastily wed and planned to move to a much larger lot to accommodate a budding family. Ansel offered to give them "Avarice Acres", a lot located across the street from his own home, under the condition that he pay for construction of their new house as a late wedding gift.

At this time Mason had altered his household name to "Wordsmith", his pseudonym but Oblivia retained her family name. Carver was born not long after most of his younger aunts and uncles, as such he became good friends with Corvus and the twins Edgar and Allen Moneygrubb. Mason had been hyping up his latest mystery novel; "Why Sims Thrill", and was on a book tour when he was abducted by aliens and impregnated, and returned to Oblivia days later with an obvious "baby bump" much to the latter's amusement. Eventually Elyon was born, an alien boy whose human form resembled his father, while his alien form resembled his mother. Though not her biological kin, Oblivia treated Elyon no different from her own and accepted him as her second son.

The Sims 4[edit | edit source]

At the start of the Sims 4 proper, Oblivia will have been married to Mason for several years, and both of their boys will be teenagers in A or B grade High School Students. While still unemployed, Oblivia will act more like a "stay-at-home mom", often commanding the robot vacuum to sweep the floors, loading the dishwasher, and preparing meals for her family.

Oblivia's day-to-day activities pertain to dancing to loud electronica music, playing SimScuffle, making lunch, napping and occasionally hosting the Girl Roomies club at home.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Oblivia's in-game traits changed dramatically between pre-Sims 4 and Sims 4 proper. Originally she was an Erratic Loner, but these traits changed to Materialistic and Snob, though she is still a bit of a bookworm.
  • Oblivia's style/look changes drastically once married to Mason, she goes from wearing her hair long and flat and in black sweatpants and T-shirt to expensive-looking dresses with designer heels and jewelry.
  • A recurring in-joke is that being around large amounts of money had "cured" Oblivia of her strangeness, as she used to have the goofy walk style and was an eccentric loner, but now uses the snooty walk style and is a materialistic snob.
  • Her favorite color is black (a recurring theme for the Wordsmith/Poes), and her favorite music styling is Electronica.
