Ansel Moneygrubb is an original sim (creation of LexxBlix/AedanStarfang) residing in Willow Creek in the Sims 4. He is notorious for always being enrolled in the criminal career and has many antisocial and negative-attributed traits, in addition he has several negative traits (argumentative, insensitive and uncontrolled emotions) due to having had a terrible upbringing, despite this he has the responsible trait and is a fairly adept parent, and can often be seen helping his children with their various schoolwork and projects they bring home.

In the Sims 3, Ansel is a teenager and lives with his Brother and parents in Sunset Valley and in the Sims 4 he is a Young Adult (5 days from becoming an adult) and resides in Magnolia Blossom (once a park now bulldozed into a mansion), in Willow Creek with his five youngest children, and neighbors with his brother Maximus, and his eldest children; Mason, Coquetta, and Raziel in the affluent Llama Lagoon neighborhood.

Despite being an evil sim Ansel is best friends forever with his younger brother Maximus, and has a neutral/slightly negative relationship with Scarlet Lachance, likely due to him successfully ousting her as Club Leader of 'Bad Reputation' and is good friends and former co-workers with his eldest son Draven Bloodshy.

Ansel enjoys being the center of attention, and loves hosting his club's meetings at his home despite the 'Sun Room' being the designated hangout (likely due to having the 'Self-Absorbed' trait). He also enjoys having his kids' friends and relatives over and frequently allows big parties and group hangouts to occur on his lot. His notoriously mean actions and general evil behavior have earned him a 1 star celebrity with atrocious reputation.

Biography

Life leading up to the Sims 3

At the start of the Sims 3 Ansel is a teen and lives in Sunset Valley with his brother Maximus, and his parents. He is enemies with Scarlet Lachance, but neutral with her younger sister Ruby. He is on negative terms with his father Percival, and good friends with his mother and slightly negative relationship with Max.

Ansel will be an A grade High School student, and despite this will still continue to earn the ire of his father and occasionally be argumentative with his brother.

Life leading up to the Sims 4

Ansel was born the eldest child to Percival and Petunia Moneygrubb. He grew up in Umbrage Manor in Willow Creek alongside his younger sibling Maximus Moneygrubb, the latter being Percival's favorite. Despite enduring a rather daunting childhood Ansel seemed to have transitioned well into adulthood and soon met and married Dahlia Widowschilde.

At some point Ansel is kicked out of Umbrage Manor by his father, forcing him to move in with his then girlfriend/fiancee` Dahlia Widowschilde, in Forgotten Hollow. Eventually Ansel moved far enough up in the criminal career that he and his now wife, and two children (Mason and Coquetta) can move into a large family home in Newcrest. Not soon after, Dahlia gives birth to a third child (Raziel) while his eldest son ages into a child and his daughter ages into a toddler.

Years later, Ansel invites Maximus and Violetta to move in with their two children in order be closer to family and save money. Shortly after the birth of their youngest child (Seraphina), Dahlia left Ansel a 'Dear John' letter due to his anger issues and returned to Widowschilde Townhome. Ansel exploded into a fury of rage, and died not long after. His ghost continued to haunt and terrorize the occupants of the Moneygrubb Manor at Midtown, unwilling to discern family from foe. While possessing objects around the house, Ansel went through the ground and discovered an old wishing well submerged into the earth. He dug it out and immediately wished for life, but the well refused. Ansel spent over §1,000,000 in wasted wishes vying for life once again. Eventually he managed to appease the wishing well enough that (by paying multiple payouts of §10,000) it granted his wish, and he was granted life again.

With mortality restored and living a normal sim life once again, Ansel consumed many potions of youth to preserve his age as a young adult (as he should have aged up to adult), and shared this secret with his brother Max. Though there is no actual documented proof, Ansel's original estate at Midtown Meadows was razed to the ground (the inhabitants were all on vacation at the time) on his orders and the sweet insurance payout of §7,000,000 helped to bring him out of bankruptcy. Ansel purchased Magnolia Blossom in Willow Creek, and had an exact replica of his original Moneygrubb Manor established on the lot and soon after moved his children and brother's family in.

The Sims 4

At the very start of the game Ansel is at rank 8 of the Criminal Career, and suffers from frequent bouts of tension and anger due to a combination of needing a vacation and a promotion, also being a materialistic sim and not having purchased anything new for a while.

Ansel's performance will be stuck in the 'poor' or 'good' for a while until he can manually raise it back up (by performing mean and/or mischievous acts) due to failing a work promotion wish from the wishing well.

Other Depictions

In the Sims 4: Smithbergson Family youtube series by AedanStarfang, Ansel referred to as "Mr. Moneygrubb" is acquaintances with O'Donell Smithbergson, and it is often he with whom she speaks to when requesting to speak to the manager. He is shown as a very "no-nonsense", aggressive "Mr. McMahon (ala WWE)" type of character who won't hesitate to fire someone over the most minute trangression, though his reactions are almost entirely related to poor customer service. He is also not afraid to get his hands dirty as he is seen actually killing at least two other sims on-screen; Dave Richardson and Augistino Griggs, though the latter returned as a zombie chef employed at Ansel's restaurant.

Trivia

The reasoning behind Ansel's buying up or "land grabbing" of so much Willow Creek property is because he wants the Moneygrubbs to not only reside in their ancestral neighborhood, but to own the lots as well to preserve them for future generations of Moneygrubbs.
