Scarlet Lachance is an original sim (creation of LexxBlix/AedanStarfang) residing in her large family mansion 'Optimist's Outlook', in Newcrest in the Sims 4. Scarlet is the ambitious and clever matriarch of the Lachance Family, having succeeded her mother from the previous generation.

Scarlet is good friends and co-workers with her son Amaranth, and Maximus Moneygrubb, and has a slightly negative relationship with Ansel Moneygrubb. She was the original founder of the club 'Bad Reputation', but was ousted as leader when Ansel Moneygrubb convinced her to step down. Being an evil sim with a tendency to yell at anyone she dislikes, even her own family as earned Scarlet a bad reputation.

The Lachances similarly in fashion to the Landgraabs, are an extremely old, well-connected and very wealthy family. The means of their wealth, unlike the Landgraabs, does not stem from real estate or "land grabbing" but likely to the procurement and selling of rare works of art, this is evidenced by the attic-turned dance hall that is filled with old paintings, statues and antiques. Also similarly to Nancy Landgraab, Scarlet is a Lachance by birth and her husband Oswald was married into the family, and his brother Oscar, was allowed to take the family name as well.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Life leading up to the Sims 3[edit | edit source]

In the Sims 3 exists two distinct versions of Scarlet Lachance; version one or "canon" Scarlet exists in Sunset Valley as a teenager with her mother Rose and younger sister Ruby. She is enemies with Ansel Moneygrubb and his father Percival, but is friends with Maximus and neutral with Petunia Moneygrubb. She will start off as a C grade High School student, but will quickly rise to an A due to her workaholic and amnbitious traits. After aging up Scarlet will have the aspiration to become the CEO of a Megacorporation, and will have more business-related and money-oriented traits.

In the console version of the Sims 3, Scarlet appears as a Young Adult (a few days from becoming an Adult) and lives among several female roommates in a house in Moonlight Bay called the "Girl Roomies" household. Her traits are mostly the same as in the Sims 4; Evil, Snob, and Family-Oriented, with the addition of Ambitious and Workaholic (due to the Sims 3 being more lenient on maximum trait allowance). She will eventually marry local firefighter Thomas Coles and will have her first child Carmine. Scarlet will inevitably divorce Thomas and move into the Modern Zen lot, and marry another male sim and birth two more child sims; Auburn and Amaranth, the sim whom she marries does not matter as she will always give birth to one more boy sim and one girl sim, though not always in that order.

Life leading up to the Sims 4[edit | edit source]

Scarlet returns in the Sims 4 as an evil sim again, only this time she is surrounded by her whole family. This time she has a default husband named Oswald, and allows his brother, Oscar to take the family name and move in as well.

Scarlet will be enrolled in the business career as an assistant to the Manager, but can quickly rise up to CEO and eventually Business Tycoon with repeated performance improvements and wage negotiations. She will be friends with all of her family members, save for Oscar who she is only acquaintances with. She will be good friends and co-workers with Maximus Moneygrubb, and only have a slightly negative relationship with his brother Ansel. She will also be acquainted with, but not necessarily friends with Nancy Landgraab, and Bella Goth due to all of them being in the "Out of this world Elites" club ran by Paxton Protozoa. She will be neutral with the majority of the members of "Bad Reputation", especially Ansel's children whom were complicit in ousting her as leader.

The Lachances originally lived at Beech Byway in Newcrest, in a beautifully red brick mansion neighboring their rivals the Moneygrubbs. At some point the Moneygrubb Mansion located at Midtown Meadows was mysteriously burned to the ground one night, and the family which had previously occupied the house now lived in the prestigious Llama Lagoon neighborhood and on a much larger lot. Enraged by this blatant act of one-upsmanship, Scarlet ordered the entire mansion be taken apart, moved to Optimist's Outlook and rebuilt brick-by-brick, as one way of showing how "unbothered" she was with the Moneygrubb's wealth and a means of keeping an eye on them.

The Sims 4[edit | edit source]

By the time the Sims 4 begins, Scarlet will be deep into her business career but will have tense moodlets desiring a vacation. Her daughter will have recently married, and moved in with Thaddington Burrows, a man who was originally hired to be the family butler. Scarlet and her family were initially scandalized by the prospect of a Lachance marrying a servant, however things calmed down when it was revealed that the man came from a wealthy family, and Scarlet welcomed him in with open arms.
