Opal Karlson (née Ives) resides in Simsville with her husband, Larry, and their children. She has a very high relationship with her husband as the two will often autonomously flirt with each other. Opal is employed as a journalist and is very good friends with Tosha Sargeant and Neil Sargaent. Opal and Larry currently have 3 children together: Nellie, Hazel, Hayden, and Norah.
Opal has red hair and often wears it tied back in a ponytail, and wears a small pair of thick-rimmed glasses. Her signature outfit is a white sweater, white skirt, red flats, and pearl earrings.
Opal originally resided in Moonlight Falls with her ex-boyfriend, Rick Swanson. She soon dumped Rick and moved out after he cheated on her. She then packed up and moved to Simsville, and met Larry. The two soon started dating and fell in love. Their first child, Heidi, was born a little over a year after their wedding.
