Resurrect Template[edit source]

Because I don't know where I should discuss about template, I'll just go here. I feel like some resurrect templates are redundant if they're just used to all deceased Sims. In my opinion, this template should just be used to Sims who are not resurrectable, or Sims whose way to be resurrected is different. What do you people think? Nikel Talk 13:55, January 31, 2012 (UTC)

All of the steps with sims with no character data WON'T WORK! PLEASE HELP![edit source]

These steps on resurrecting sims with no character data won't work for me! When I give character data & go to the game, my sim won't be resurrected using the Resurrect-O-Nomitron. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Corymach7 (talk) 12:20 2 June 2012 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

Are you sure you just followed the instructions correctly? I don't really know, since I never ressurected such Sims. Nikel Talk 08:53, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
I'm positive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Corymach7 (talk) 13:36 4 June 2012 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~
Maybe I suggest you not to persistently do that. Let the dead rest in peace. Anyway, maybe you're not supposed to do that the first place? It might harm your hood, perhaps. Nikel Talk 14:05, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
I might think that Adult sims that have no character data, I cannot let the adult sims that include Skip Broke, Lou Thanasia, Hector Thebe, Judith Dottore, Anne Norman, Valentine Monty, Tobea Dane, Richard Norman, Hero Monty, Maria Arlecchino & lastly, Francisca Pantalone rest in peace. I want them to live to be old. That's the only reason why I give character data correctly. I've downloaded the clones of all dead sims 2 ancestors, but I have to skip step 8 because neither of the clones have the seven files that I have to remove. I always use SimPE to help me. Those things won't harm my neighborhood. When I run the neighborhood after giving sims without character data character data (I know how to back up my files.) my Veronaville won't crash. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Corymach7 (talk) 16:24 4 June 2012 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~
Not the SimPE, but the method I meant. Maybe resurrecting those who cannot be resurrected shouldn't be done. Well, I hope it's just not harmful though, to be safe... Nikel Talk 05:12, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
Nikel is right. There is a reason why they aren't really in the game. Those Sims are not meant to be played with, if you really want to play those characters than recreate them. Starmoonie(Talk Here) 05:15, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
Note this:SimPE must always work with character data giving. How do you create clones of a sim that I want to resurrect? I have already downloaded the clones. How do you resurrect the adult sims without character data after giving them character data? Those sims are meant to be played with and that is the fact! If you see this message, you can't block Corymach7 in his talk page which is me. However, I keep trying to give character data, it won't work. Call EA for updates to SimPE & if they won't update, do it yourself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Corymach7 (talk) 16:27 6 June 2012 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~
SimPE isn't made by EA. It's a third-party tool made by Quaxi. What can be done isn't always safe for the result in game. Some deceased Sims might be glitchy too. Why are you persistent to resurrect them? Nikel Talk 16:53, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
I'm am presistent to resurrect just adult sims without character data including Hero Monty, Trinculo Arlecchino, Maria Arlecchino, Hamlet Dane Jr., Tobea Dane, Lou Thanasia, etc. because they died young, & I want them to live an long, happy life. Why did EA kill them off as adults??????? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Corymach7 (talk) 21:09 9 June 2012 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~
For crying out loud, whatever. I told you to stop it. If you run into a problem, you're on your own. EA killed them as adults if not because of storyline purpose, because they want to. You don't want anyone to shout at you just because your adult Sim drowned to death, do you? Nikel Talk 15:40, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
OK, I'll stop if you ask anyone in Mod The Sims to make a new mod where you can resurrect sims with no character data. I don't want anyone to shout at me just because my adult died.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Corymach7 (talk) 12:34 30 June 2012 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~
I re-wrote the steps so they should be clearer. As for the Resurrect-O-Nomitron, it can only resurrect Sims the caller knows in some way. The example Celesta92059 used in her tutorial was Darren Dreamer resurrecting his father. Dirk could have done it as well, but (AFAIK) no other Sims could. If you search MTS for Christianlov, you can probably find the "Resurrect any Sim" mod that was referred to. Dharden (talk) 18:18, June 30, 2012 (UTC)
Also, consider the possibility that the downloadable ancestors that were linked to were made for the purpose of providing character information for Sims that have none. Their maker may have already removed the files that the steps call for removing. In addition, please note that there are two Skip Brokes in the game. One of them can be resurrected, but the other has no character data, and probably was never meant to be resurrectable. Dharden (talk) 22:05, June 30, 2012 (UTC)
I know, thank you for your own help.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Corymach7 (talk) 22:11 30 June 2012 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~
Celesta92059´s steps are correct. Read them carefully. Try relinking a Sim, removing Dead Token, ticking off ghost flags, etc. Mate1234 (talk) 21:45, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

Resurrecting Sims with no character data[edit source]

Does this mean that it's impossible to make exact clones of deceased Sims (that can't be resurrected in-game) with customized face templates, with SimPE?

I was hoping that I'd be able to extract the appearances of Sims such as the original versions of Darleen Dreamer, Michael Bachelor and Nervous Subject. But when I used this tutorial to extract the appearances of some of the Sims, the Sims who couldn't be resurrected in-game weren't on the list.

With SimPE, it's possible to add deceased Sims who can't be resurrected in-game to a playable household, but they will be invisible and the game will continuously force errors on the Sim with no character data, less than a Sim minute after the player clicks reset to bypass the previous error.

I was thinking of using the tombstone and life and death to make a playable Sim have a baby with the Sim who can't be resurrected in-game, by impregnating the playable Sim with the Sim with no character data, exiting the game and going into SimPE and unlink the playable Sims' genetic file, relink the genetic file belonging to the Sim with no character data, and remove the Sim with no character data from the household.

I won't be trying this (except maybe on a test PC or something) because I'm not exactly sure it will work, and I'm almost certain that it would corrupt my game. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 04:36, October 25, 2014 (UTC)

Also is there a way to extract the appearances of object NPCs like Pollination Technician, Mrs. Crumplebottom, IdealPlantSim and Rod Humble? -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 04:54, October 25, 2014 (UTC)

Body Shop & SimPE[edit source]

What I do if there's a dead Sim:

  • I clone them in Body Shop and save them.
  • I put them in CAS in the game and give them their old aspiration, etc. (I write down all that information just in case they die or I need to remake them).
  • I save them in the Family Bin.
  • I launch SimPE and re-do their family ties, etc. until they're exactly how they were before.
  • I go back into TS2 and move them in with the family.
  • I delete the Sim's tombstone.
  • They're (sort of) alive again!

Ghost Traits in TS4[edit source]

In TS4, ghostly Sims have a visible trait determining their COD. This makes it easy (with cheats) to resurrect a Sim, or make him into a ghost, just by removing or adding one of such traits, respectively. I haven't experimented with it too much, though, and only used it to resurrect a few Sims who've died by in-game scenario, so I can't tell much anything further. Rename[edit source]

I would like to see if there is any interest in renaming the page to "Game guide:Bringing Sims back to life" or something similar. The reason I propose this is to make the meaning of the page more clear, especially for people who do not know the meaning of the word 'resurrect.'

Consider, as well, how easy it is to find this page through Google searches or other internet search. Run a quick search for "Sims resurrect" and this page will be the second page to pop up (after Resurrect-O-Nomitron)... but also note that only ~150,000 results are populated, meaning this is not a very common term. What's more likely, if a player is looking for ways to bring a Sim back to life, is for them to type it just like that - "Sims bring back to life". In this scenario, the page is the sixth on the list, below five other links, including a video link. Also note how many hits are returned when you search for that phrase - over 55 million! In short, if we want this page to be more noticeable to people who will be searching for it - and who might not necessarily turn to The Sims Wiki as their first source of information on the topic - then we should rename the page. -- LiR talkblogcontribs 17:50, February 14, 2016 (UTC)

I acted boldly and renamed the article. -- LiR talkblogcontribs 16:40, February 15, 2016 (UTC)

Resurrection in The Sims 1[edit source]

Should we add the information that resurrection is also possible in The Sims 1? If you download the object called "Resuscitative Table" from the site www.oddsim.com/the_sims_objects/surfaces.html you can also bring back dead Sims back to life in the first Sims franchise. You just need to put the urn ( or a gravestone) on this table the option to resurrect will appear . Of course the urn needs to be a real one so it doesn't apply to gravestone found in Goth Sr graveyard ( they are just for decoration). 95.180.100.87 (talk) 12:42, April 5, 2019 (UTC)
