Garbage can

Garbage cans and garbage bins are containers used for the disposal of garbage. While they can hold less household refuse than trash compactors, they don't wear down or break. Garbage cans can be found in buy mode under "Appliances -> Large Appliances" or in "Miscellaneous" depending on the game, and in the Kitchen section sorted by room.
The Sims 2
Sims with 1 sloppy points can "Salvage" outdoor, which yields the salvaging Sim few simoleons. This, of course, slightly reduces hygiene.

The trash chute appears in the communal areas of most premade apartment lots and functions similarly to the outdoor trash can, allowing residents living on the upper floors to dispose of their trash without having to go all the way to the first floor. The trash chute does not need to be emptied and can be placed inside apartments or even on regular residential lots. Sims tend to throw trash first before the outdoor can after emptying trash compactors or bins.
