Welcome to Miraheze, The Sims Wiki's new home! Things are a bit different around here than they are on our old home, Wikia. We'll cover some of the most exciting features that are new to The Sims Wiki that Miraheze offers. You won't find these features on Wikia!
Vector skin
Sleek, stylish, snazzy, and anything but squished! The Sims Wiki on Miraheze uses the Vector skin, the same design used on Wikipedia. There is plenty of room for page content, so you can read comfortably without being distracted by things on the side!
No ads
You hate ads, and so do we. Some sites let you pay to remove ads; others will just try to find ways around your ad blocker. Miraheze runs no ads at all, which means no distractions, no advertising cookies, and best of all, no tracking!
No autoplaying videos
You know how some Wikia pages have this gigantic autoplaying video that appears at the very top of the article? Yeah, isn't that just annoying? What if I told you that none of those exist on Miraheze? If we have videos, they'll only play when you want them to play! (Well, when you click them, at least)
Modern editing
Enjoy a sleek, modern editing interface that loads in seconds and drops you straight into the page. Edit like Microsoft Word faster than Word can start up. No need to read any manuals or learn any markup to edit!
For those who still prefer editing via wiki markup, we haven't forgotten about you: enjoy a wider edit window with more advanced tools and options for you to choose from. You can even upload images just by dragging and dropping files!

Unlimited access to millions of free files
We've partnered with Wikimedia Commons to let you use their entire collection of 50 million+ free to use images, videos, and audio clips instantly on the wiki! You don't need to reupload those files—just link to them like you would any other file, and it'll appear right on the wiki. It's that easy!
Dynamic audio and video playback
Play any audio or video file in your browser, even if your operating system doesn't support the file format, right from the article itself. Our media player on Miraheze can even support subtitles in both audio and video, so it's easier to follow along with lyrics!
Mobile editing
Use Miraheze's optimized mobile site to save on data and still get the content you desire at your fingertips. You can even edit using your phone or mobile device!

Real JavaScript and CSS editors
Syntax highlighting, error checking, and element collapsing... all while looking stylish and modern. Never write in ugly black-and-white plain text again!
Make your dream templates
Use TemplateStyles to make CSS run for just one template or page. You don't need to be an administrator or deal with messy template coding again! Plus, loading CSS only on pages where that template is used will improve site performance for everyone, as others don't need to load CSS code that they aren't using.
Frustrated with VisualEditor breaking things because it doesn't know how to use templates? You can teach VisualEditor how to use templates properly using TemplateData, available on all templates. Users using the VisualEditor will be able to add templates and parameters by filling in a form that you can customize. Control how the template is used so new editors won't ever be confused again.
Gadgets of your choosing
Choose from a large selection of custom user gadgets to enhance your browsing and editing experience. Enjoy advanced editing tools like HotCat and Twinkle to make editing much much easier!
The customizability you crave
Create and customize your own browsing experience through personal CSS and JS, now completely unrestricted. Develop JavaScript tools and CSS customizations anywhere in your userspace. CSS and JavaScript don't run on the login page or the user preferences page, so you always have a way out of any mistakes you make.
Administrators will be happy to hear that all pages in the MediaWiki namespace are freely editable, and there is no review process for community-wide JavaScript. Wikis were supposed to be open after all, right?
Hide edits, not pages
Very problematic edits can now be hidden from public view without having to delete the entire page. With revision deletion, you can remove entire edits—or just the edit summary—without ruining the integrity of the page history. They will appear as struck-out entries, so people will know that there's still an edit there, but they won't be able to view it.
