}}Moveobjects (sometimes known as MOO, for "moveobjects on") is a cheat present in every base game that disables many of the normal restrictions on the movement, placement and deletion of objects (including Sims). This allows players to move or delete Sims, move or delete fixed objects (e.g., the mailboxTSTS2) around a lot, move or delete objects that are currently in use by a Sim, place multiple objects on the same grid tile, or place objects in locations where they otherwise cannot be placed. In The Sims 4, Moveobjects cannot be used to move Sims.

<code>move_objects</code>TS or <code>moveObjects</code>TS2TSSTS3 is a cheat favored by cheaters, decorators and glitch fixers alike. Instead of being placed in usual places, furniture and other objects (including Sims) can be placed in areas where they normally wouldn't be able to go — through a wall, in the street, etc. It is also possible to delete objects which normally can't be deleted, such as objects which are seen as being in use.

This cheat has been mentioned in the readme of The Sims 2, The Sims Stories, and The Sims 3.

The cheat is not present in The Sims 4. The developers said that there are technical difficulties with the cheat included in the game, and it might be fixed and added later in a patch.

Moveobjects

A Sim moved with moveObjects

Moveobjects (sometimes known as MOO, for "moveobjects on") is a cheat present in every base game that disables many of the normal restrictions on the movement, placement and deletion of objects (including Sims). This allows players to move or delete Sims, move or delete fixed objects (e.g., the mailbox[TS][TS2]) around a lot, move or delete objects that are currently in use by a Sim, place multiple objects on the same grid tile, or place objects in locations where they otherwise cannot be placed. In The Sims 4, Moveobjects cannot be used to move Sims.

Hazards[edit | edit source]

Moveobjects disables restrictions on deleting many objects that appear in the game, such as the mailbox, trash can, carpool, or the portals that allow Sims to enter and exit a lot. In most cases, it is impossible to replace these objects after they are deleted as the objects cannot be purchased in buy mode. This is a particular hazard in The Sims, as buy mode does not have an Undo function in that game, although build mode does.

Misuse of the cheat can also cause numerous glitches, though they are typically not severe and can be corrected. In The Sims 3, putting a Sim on a pedestal will cause Sims to be moved off the town grid. This can be reversed by activating the teleportation cheat and having the Sim teleported to a location in the town. Deleting a chair when a Sim is on it will cause the Sim to freeze until the game is restarted. Moving Sims with the moveobjects cheat can also sometimes cause Sims to sink through the floor randomly; this can be corrected by use of the resetSim cheat.

Other uses[edit | edit source]

 • In a Legacy Challenge, this cheat is allowed to fix glitchy objects and NPCs and interior decorating.
 • This cheat can be used to remove stuck objects, Sims who can't get out of their chairs, or Sims who are confused and can't find their way out of an area.
 • In The Sims, Sims deleted using this cheat will have a red "X" through their icon in the control panel. Clicking the icon will cause the Sim to reappear. This can be used as a quick way to restore the Sim's motives.
 • In The Sims 2, Sims can be deleted using this cheat if they are bugged or corrupted, and will return to the mailbox when the lot is reloaded.
 • In The Sims 4, the cheat can be used to change the Y position (vertical position) of an object, by activating the cheat then pressing 0 to lower an object or 9 to raise an object.
