Pollination Technician 9 is an alien character in both The Sims 2 and The Sims 2 for PlayStation Portable.

Life leading up to The Sims 2

Though technically a strange tomato, Pollination Technician 9 is the matriarch of Strangetown, and father of four hundred million of its citizens. Although he had a very strange occupation in his adulthood, Pollination Technician 9 always wanted to just have a regular family. But he never did an his life was full of murder, suspiscion and worst of all... hysterical pregnancy.

Retiring after his descent into elderhood, he adopted the last name "Smith" and started a new family in the bosom of Strangetown, becoming an infamous community leader who's disrespected the law and admired by most of his cult members, excluding his resentful enemy - and estranged wife from a parallel universe - General Buzz Grunt, with whom he is feuding.

He gave birth single-handedly to, and is married to, Jenny Smith and is the father to many millions children, Johnny Smith (the name given to all the males) and Jill Smith (the name given to all the females) through Jenny (who, after all those millions of children her father gave birth to, is still PT9's favourite child). He is also the father to the twins Lola Singles and Chloe Singles through, what seems like, the alien abduction of Glarn Curious. Notice that although in the family description it states that the Sim planet is his favourite, he has only carried out a single pollination there, according to his family tree. Well, I'm afraid to tell you now that that is a lie.

He seems to be one of the very few aliens to have a face, a tradition pasted down by his family.

Unlike most aliens, who have fire inserted nazally at birth, he has water up his nose; his daughter, Chloe, has water and her human father, Glarn, has water too (shown in pictures of the inside of Lazlo, Pascal, and Lola's nose). This means it is possibly that PT9 and Glarn were unknowingly related when PT9 pollinated Glarn.

There is a poster called Surfing the Universe depicting an alien named GC#67 who is Pollination Technician 9#'s cousin, according to the description. Though so is said in description, the family tree does not show GC#67. The 'GC' (some people think) are Glarn Curious - they are his initials...

Life leading up to The Sims 2 (PSP version)

Pollination Technician is even older and lives with his wife and daughter. The player has to free his son Johnny in a mini game. He wears an outfit similar to a Pollination Technician in one mini-game. He lives in Division 47. His facial structure is different from the PC version. In the game he speaks slowly and with no facility, possibly because he is just learning to speak Simlish.
