Rabbit hole
A Rabbit Hole is a massive object that works as a community building in The Sims 3 which Sims can visit. You can not see Sims while they are inside a rabbit hole.
Usually they are lot-sized objects (with exception of the Cemetery Mausoleum). They can provide either a moodlet or an item for a Sim's inventory, or be a workplace for the Sim.
Rabbit holes may be interacted with in a number of ways, depending on the Sim being controlled. Teen and Adult Sims can go to Rabbit Holes in order to get full or part-time jobs. Rabbit Holes like the Bistro and Spa offer Sims services for a set fee. The Bookstore and Supermarket offer goods for purchase (which are added to the Sim's inventory).
Most rabbit hole buildings used in Sunset Valley, the original neighborhood shipped with the game, are identical to the buildings used in Riverview, with some notable variations:
- The City Hall in Riverview is a reduced version of the City Hall in Sunset Valley
- The Military base in Sunset Valley appears much larger than the one in Riverview but is really many separate building put into one lot
- The Science Lab in Riverview appears not to have a dome but really the dome is a separate building and does not appear in Riverview
- If you look in the "CREATE A WORLD" tool you will see that many buildings do not have interactions but really are separate
