The Sims 3

An abandoned warehouse is a rabbit hole building found in The Sims 3.

Gameplay descriptions[edit | edit source]

This is where a Sim can get a job in the Criminal career. Sims in the Law Enforcement career can get a warrant to perform a raid on this rabbit hole. NPC burglars will also retreat to the abandoned warehouse after their burglary if they haven't been arrested by the police.

With Ambitions installed, there is a unique building disaster for firefighter Sims. Like all other building disasters, the Sim goes in for a while and the player is unable to control them. It is the "evil plot backfire" disaster and clouds are flying into the building.

Abandoned warehouses generate the following red map tag in-game:

There is a bug associated with this building. It occurs after a Sim fulfills the "Doomsday" (Law Enforcement career opportunity). The game creates an invisible barrier which prevents Sims from entering the building. To correct this, the player must go into build mode for this particular lot (from Edit Town) and then use the "moveobjects on" cheat to freely move the main building a few squares until they can safely "clear" the area around the entrance with the bulldozer tool. The player cannot delete the obstruction objects directly, because they do not show up, even in build mode! After having used the bulldozer tool, move the building back into its original position, disable the cheat with "moveobjects off", save the town and exit into play mode again![citation needed]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Inside one of the shacks in The Lair, the abandoned warehouse in Sunlit Tides, there's a bear rug, a picnic basket, a heart-shaped box of chocolate, and a heart-shaped bed. The same bear rug and picnic basket can also be seen inside the Cure-All Collective, the hospital in Aurora Skies. It can only be viewed using the cameraman mode. This, along with the appearance of the lair could be associated with the song Skullcrusher Mountain by Jonathan Coulton.
  • The abandoned warehouse in Roaring Heights might belong to Clyde Reeves, who also resides there and works in the criminal career.
  • The Deja View Theater in Moonlight Falls is combined with an abandoned warehouse in a multi-purpose rabbit hole.
