TALK - I am the Walrus
Compiled all TS3 books here

I figure this is the best page for a running total of all the books in TS3. Certainly a more intuitive place than the bookstore, where they were, and which only sells some of these books. I've put every premade book in the current two TS3 titles here. If it gets overcrowded, we can start splitting them into dedicated page list of their own (eg according to genre or speciality). I've left lists of what is sold in the bookstore and various markets because they are still useful on that page, and serve a purpose beyond this massive list.
Hope this makes sense to people other than me. :)

BTW, does anyone have a list of all the books gained through work opportunities/adventures? It'd be quite fun for Sims trying to collect all the premade books into a library to have a list like that.

Opportunity Books[edit source]

There's another book, Street or Sidewalk: A Cautionary Tale. I don't know the page number, but it's in the journalism carrer. Thanks. --Zacknjess

Time Machine Books[edit source]

Hi I wanted to post here regarding books you can receive from the Time Machine. I was playing with Agnes Crumplebottom and I signed her up for the book club available via the computer and I received a book titled "The Fall of Atlantis". Thing is, I don't have Ambitions installed, only base game and World Adventures, so I don't even have a time machine. I googled the name of the book as it had an unusual appearance and looked to be pretty valuable and came across a post under the Time Machine page. And then I noticed there wasn't a list of these books available through the Time Machine. I'm not sure if these books are exclusively to the Time Machine (Ambitions) or already available in the base game but hard to get. I haven't edited anything as I'm not very sure, but I'd like someone to take note of this and edit the books page properly.210.24.86.245 09:14, April 3, 2011 (UTC)

I'm just into the game files, especially the books.xml. For a lot of books, e.g. the time travel ones and those from the vacation's bookstores the flag for the required EP isn't set and thus they are theoratically available in the basegame. This explains, why you could get them. -- CompleCCity (talk) 15:24, June 16, 2015 (UTC)

Trivia[edit source]

I'm pretty sure many of the book titles are plays on real world books, perhaps we could try and compile some info on that. At least I'd like to think that A Game of Thorns is inspired by A Game of Thrones. They sound alike and it's almost an anagram. | Duskey | 11:04, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

they need a more simple system of books[edit source]

they should just have idincal books from the bookcase and fun and study opions back

New Books by Expansion Packs[edit source]

I suppose newer expansion packs have new books shipped as well. Mainly, Generations and Pets books have not been updated for this page. Someone needs add them and I'll rearrange the tables and lists. Nikel Talk 17:34, October 26, 2011 (UTC)

"Books First for Learning" and maids[edit source]

As I recall, when my latest EP was Seasons, maids would consistently ignore any "Golden Books" that were left on floors or tables. I have recently noticed that, with FreeTime (patched), maids will pick them up. Either this is something that was fixed between Seasons and the FreeTime patch, so maids recognize "Golden Books" as things to put away; or the "Golden Book" was always something maids might or might not put away. Dharden (talk) 15:50, July 31, 2013 (UTC)

I've heard the same thing too, but I never paid attention to the maid's behavior. AFAIK, later EP somehow broke the golden book cover and turned it into generic cover. Since Apartment Life was my first EP, I didn't know if it was true. I don't know whether this could have a connection with that issue or not. Nikel Talk Vote! 17:17, August 4, 2013 (UTC)

Cookbook from Makin' Magic[edit source]

IMO, that would fit better with an article about the MM baking oven. Dharden (talk) 16:52, August 13, 2014 (UTC)

In The Sims: Makin' Magic, the oven is called the "Standard-Plus Brick Oven for Bakers", and isn't listed in stove because it doesn't cook like a normal stove. Should we call this new article oven, or would that be too confused with toaster oven? --k6ka (talk | contribs) 17:05, August 13, 2014 (UTC)
Probably. How about baking oven ? Dharden (talk) 01:02, August 14, 2014 (UTC)
No objections here, I think that's an even better name. I think "Oven" could be a disambiguation page instead. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 01:35, August 14, 2014 (UTC)
I think that'll work. Dharden (talk) 18:56, August 14, 2014 (UTC)

Into The Future Books?[edit source]

Where are the ITF books? The bookstore in Oasis Landing has several books not available anywhere else. I was trying to buy them up without picking up extras of normal ones I already had in my sim's normal time and was hoping for a clear list but I am having to just pick through the other book lists.
