Befriending Hobby Instructor[edit source]

I heard that befriending a hobby instructor related to career (ex. Games hobby with Gamer career) will decrease friend requirement by 1, like Friends in High Place Benefit and Networking Benefit. I need clarification for this. Is this true? Nikel23 14:52, June 19, 2011 (UTC)

Discussing Novels (Film and Literature)[edit source]

I just amended the hobby-specific interactions for Film and Literature with a clarification, since TS2 might not make it perfectly clear that Book Club membership means being able to Discuss novels from the bookshelves with other Sims (and that this Book Club is not the same thing as Desirable Discourse).  But would it also be worth mentioning that Sims can discuss any novel, whether it be one of the stock novels that come with every bookshelf or a customized novel written by a Sim with a computer?

(One of my current Sims is a Gothy college student and an evil witch-in-training, and she loves to bore all of the other dormitory tenants with discussions about all the novels she has written.  It helps keep her Film and Lit enthusiasm at a perfect 10, and she's narcissistic like that anyway.  ;)  )

I added a note explaining that "Participate in Book Club" and the ability to discuss books are the same thing. Dharden (talk) 15:12, January 7, 2014 (UTC)

Sports Instructor in the Swimming Pool[edit source]

I've just been playing the Sims 2 with FreeTime installed, and I had one of my Sims swimming to improve their fitness level. When the sports instructor arrived to greet that Sim, he got into the swimming pool so as to greet them because he wasn't able to greet them whilst out of the swimming pool when they were in it, even though it's impossible to greet a Sim while swimming.

I'm not entirely sure what value this information will have and I'm not sure if it's worth mentioning in the article, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this - having the sports instructor getting into the swimming pool to try to greet the target Sim. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 10:06, March 2, 2015 (UTC)

A Hobby Enthusiasm Animation[edit source]

I'm not sure exactly what kind of animation this is, but I'm pretty sure this is a hobby enthusiasm animation from FreeTime. I found Kent Capp outside one of my Sim's houses performing some kind of animation. Apparently he had his hands out and moving them as if to pretend they were sock-puppets that people wear on their hands. At the same time he was cheerfully speaking in Simlish. It took a few Sim minutes before he stopped doing the animation, so that my Sim could greet him.

Has anyone heard or seen this type of solo animation performed by a Sim. And does anyone know what the animation means, or what hobby enthusiasm it represents? I've been trying to find out what it means, but unfortunately that was the first, and currently last time I've ever seen a Sim doing it. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 04:31, April 21, 2015 (UTC)

That doesn't sound like a hobby idle animation to me. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 23:10, April 24, 2015 (UTC)
Okay maybe it isn't, but I've never seen this sort of animation, so I wouldn't know anything about it or what it means. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:31, April 24, 2015 (UTC)
