Sim Bot

The Sim Bot is looking more and more distinct from the Servo. It may warrant splitting this page and giving it a page of its own. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kiwi tea (talkcontribs) 12:44, May 31, 2010 - Sign your comments with ~~~~

I'm beginning to think you may be right about that. Dharden 15:55, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
I agree. Duskey 19:10, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
Just for clarification, the proper name is SimBot without a space in it. Duskey 00:45, June 10, 2010 (UTC)
It has been moved to SimBot :) Duskey 07:46, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

Activation?

I've made a Servo and neither of my sims can activate it, the mouse just turns gray. Please help!Iaselar 11:49, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Can you use boolprop to make a Servo if you have any expansions above OFB, but not OFB itself? Gyromite 10:37, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Servo Problems.

Hmm. There Are Two Solutions To Why This Might Have Happened. If You have The Sims 2: Open for Business And Are Running A Home Business. Then I Suggest You Check To See If Your Servo Was Set For "Sell". If It was, Then You Cannot activate It Until He's Un-Marked As "Sell".

The Other Solution Would Be This ... Your Game Might Have A Glitch. If Not Them Two Options. Then I'm Afraid I Cannot Help You. Perhaps You Should Play Around With Your Sims 2 Abit More. Then Maybe Try To Make A Servo With Cheats.

If it is gliched, shift click it with boolprop on click "Force Error" then click "Reset" hope I help!

Servo is Awesome

Seriously, we need a Servo Fan Club or something.

Servo in Sims 3!

If you look through the front doors of the Summer-Field Science Facility you can see a large, golden statue of everyone's favourite robot!

Servo and Grilled Cheese

I saw 2 tips that told that Servo's with Grilled Cheese aspriation may be doomed to have aspiration failure because they cannot eat. However, i made a Servo with this aspiriation, and it fulfulled its eating wants properly, and the Ate Grilled Cheese memory appeared appropriatly. Gyromite 08:20, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Contradiction

The article states that having Servos eat does nothing and is a waste of food. The last note on the page states that it recharges their power. Which is accurate? 99.0.40.175 13:12, October 27, 2009 (UTC)

It may depend on which other expansion packs are installed. In my game, with nothing later than Seasons installed, it appears that a Servo does not gain power from eating, though it will lose fitness. If a later EP changed Servo so that eating does recharge it, it would explain the contradiction. Dharden 03:21, November 12, 2009 (UTC)

Servos and Seasons

Bleeh My daddy is the richest man in all of Belladonna Cove!

Can servos go outside if it's raining, hailing, or snowing? Or will they die? ......

From what I've seen, being out in rain, snow, or hail doesn't seem to affect them immediately, but I haven't tested to see how long they can be out in it. Also from what I've seen, they don't seem to be affected if they're not controllable or selectable at the time. At least, I haven't seen a Servo who was unselectable on a community lot break down because it started raining or snowing on that lot, but I don't know that it can't happen. Dharden 19:42, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

To the person with the tara picture servos can be out in rain, hail, or snow. This does not affect them as to the thought that they are protected enough to be able to get a little wet but do defect when surronded by water such as showers, pool, or hot tubs. and for some reason ( i think its a glitch in the programming) when they fix or clean a commercial shower. Hail effects the same way it does a sim. if they are in it to long they will die. Jr.simpson27 02:34, June 10, 2010 (UTC)jr.simpson27

Servo and Buy mode

Do you need to have a shop so that you can get it? Because when I looked in my electronics, I couldn't find it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.253.145.199 (talkcontribs) 00:24, June 11, 2010 - Sign your comments with ~~~~

O.T. Yes and no. If you have a Robotics work bench and a Sim with a gold Robotics badge, that sim can build a servo (costs §3,000). Otherwise, if there is a shop owned by a Sim, and they have robotics for sale, they might offer Servos. However, all this is moot if you don't have the Open for Business expansion pack. LostInRiverview 00:29, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
Servo is only a Buy mode object in Sims 1, and then only with Livin' Large, Deluxe, or Complete Collection. Dharden 03:22, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

Inconsistency

In this article Servo is intermittently used as a name. For example:

Building a Servo costs §3000, and takes about eight to twelve game hours, not counting breaks. When built, Servo is switched off

Since I only own TS3, I can't check which version is used in game. Could someone check and then fix this, please? --93.129.200.91 19:54, November 18, 2010 (UTC)

Servo is both the name (which is changeable when building them on the robot station) and the class name; both uses are correct but for consistancy, one should be selected and used throughout the article. Also, for theuse of the name "servo" it likely refers to "servo" from "servomechanism" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Servomechanism) and neither of the roots given currently in the article is relevant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.77.26.31 (talkcontribs) 12:37, November 4, 2011 (UTC) - Please sign your comments with ~~~~

Yes, both uses are correct, either it's the name or the type of creature. However, since every person's game can name their own Servos, this article has to use the general term, which is Servo. The same happens to cat, for example. You have a pet cat, but you haven't yet named it, so you have to call it cat too, right? Nikel Talk 13:14, November 4, 2011 (UTC)

I never expected to see this

I took a Sim to a community lot with a pool, and saw a Servo who was visiting the lot get in the pool and try to swim. The Servo didn't short out, but didn't like it much either. Dharden (talk) 15:19, December 25, 2011 (UTC)

Hmm... I'll put that in my note. I also got something odd with Servo. I impregnated Marla Biggs with her Servo husband via LD Tombstone, and guess what? The baby's eyes are grey! Marla's eyes are green. Does this mean Servo actually has genetics? Nikel Talk 04:44, December 26, 2011 (UTC)
Return to "Servo" page.
