The Sims
In The Sims, Ginia Kat lived alone and starts as a substitute teacher in the Education career track in a small two story house. She lived alone with her four cats, Waggles, Boots, Scout and Maggie. Since the original sims takes place 25 years before the original Pleasantview, Tara was not born yet (or not known, since Ginia seems too old to give birth and it is possible that she adopted her).
The Sims 2
Tara Kat, daughter of Ginia Kat, believes that every one should have a cat. She has three cats: Mickey, Samantha and Faline.
Her mother was originally in The Sims: Unleashed. Now her daughter is in The Sims 2: Pets. Right before the user starts playing the house, Tara adopts a kitten. Tara wonders if her older cats will accept it as a new part of the family.

- I put Tara's house in Strangetown. She got married to Ajay Loner and they are now expecting their first child together!
- I think Tara and Gilbert Jacquet are perfect couples, so they married and had twins, both are cat-lovers and natural cooks. They are now teens and are good friends with Jill Smith and Buck Grunt's twins, Miley and Aly Grunt :)
