Template talk:OldWarning

I was just searching The Kingdom of Hearts Wiki and noticed they have a warning template. It seems like a good idea, and I was wondering if I'd have permission to make one. I already know how to (stole the thing from the Kingdom of Hearts Wiki :D), and like I said before, it seems like a good idea. What do you think? That's a good idea. There are some examples on Wikipedia as well. --a_morris (talk) 02:28, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I'll go through the Wikipedia ones, and I'll pick one I like :D. We should have rules on who should use them. I think only admins, and anything under that can just leave messages, so nobody gets a warning for no reason. Bleeh Lions make you brave, giants give you faith...♥ 02:30, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
I have finished the template. What do you think? I want to find a better picture, I'm just not sure what to use. I think there should be a picture of a zombie, vampire, werewolf, or cowplant. I'll start giving one of them a white background. What do you think? Bleeh Lions make you brave, giants give you faith...♥ 02:45, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
The image should definitely be something less fatalistic. We want them to improve their editing not give up. This would be a good image for praising someone. Maybe an image of Liam, Marcela or Dudley for the warning template. --a_morris (talk) 03:03, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I have used the one of Marcela. I agree that that picture was pretty intense, and I think it looks better now, but I'd like your opinion on how the template looks. What do you think? Bleeh Lions make you brave, giants give you faith...♥ 03:13, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
I prefer the phrases used by Wikipedia. Here is the text for a level 2 warning:
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.
We can keep the reason and add the part about being blocked. --a_morris (talk) 03:30, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, that's a good idea. I'll add that, information about being blocked, remove Wikipedia and replace it with The Sims Wiki, and a link to the sandbox. Bleeh Lions make you brave, giants give you faith...♥ 03:38, February 27, 2010 (UTC)

TALK - I've been here for a long time!
Are you serious?! This is the reason I was blocked off the Kingdom Hearts Wiki! Stupid templates......

The template looks fine now, but, I believe you should give a warning only if its serious vandalism like blanking of a page, putting nonsense, profanity, etc.

Actually, I disagree with that. Someone who does serious vandalism should be blocked without warning. Giving them a warning will only encourage them to do more vandalism. --a_morris (talk) 23:46, February 27, 2010 (UTC)

Oh! I never thought of that.

Template wording/different templates?

Do you think it would be useful to have a more customizable template, or different templates? For example, if someone vandalizes a page, the template as it is right now works; but if someone participates in other activities that would deem warning, the text of this template - "Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted." - might not be suitable. Thoughts? --LostInRiverview (talk)(blog) 04:32, July 4, 2010 (UTC)

A discussion about this is currently nearing completion at the Admin Portal. --Duskeytalk 02:42, September 6, 2010 (UTC)

Not working

I typed in the exact syntax and for the reason part it just says reason and there was an example in it.--Monster2821 (talk) 11:43, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

Can you link to where you tested it? --Duskeytalk 00:20, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

This is a warning

We are warning you because of test.

This is a friendly reminder to refrain from making unconstructive edits to The Sims Wiki. Your edits have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the Sandbox, or if you need help please either read our policies or ask an administrator. You may remove this warning once you have read and understood its meaning. If you continue to vandalize you may be blocked.

Thank you.

Must have been the cap. in the reason part--Monster2821 (talk) 20:33, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

Edit button not working

Has anyone realized that clicking the edit button on the Warning section when this template is used will edit this template instead of the talk page section? Can anyone address and solve this issue? Nikel Talk 16:46, December 24, 2011 (UTC)
