Template talk:Resolved
I was thinking we could use this whenever something isn't moved/merged/deleted, instead of having a template for each. This would make {{Delete-clear}} & {{Discussion Resolved}} outdated. What do you think? Duskey(talk) 22:02, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
- I think this template would be vastly more useful if its language weren't restrictive to being used only when an item clears a move for deletion, merging or whatever, but if it can also be used for if an item is deleted, merged, etc. That would require a rewrite of the language and a reworking of the parameters, but I think it would be possible to make a decent template using only 5 parameters, <issue>, <outcome>, <discussion link>, <vote> and <date>, with the discussion link and vote parameters being optional.
File:Icon yes check v.svg | Issue resolved: The community has recently discussed or voted on <issue>, and has determined <resolution>, <vote (if needed)>. Users should not re-address this issue again, until a certain period of time has passed. <link>. <date> |
Here's an example - bolded text is that text that would be inserted by parameters - remember that the <vote> and <discussion link> parameters would not have to be filled, but could be left empty.
File:Icon yes check v.svg | Issue resolved: The community has recently discussed or voted on deletion of The Sims 2 article, and has determined to delete the article, by a vote of 67 to 2. Users should not re-address this issue again, until a certain period of time has passed. See this discussion page for more information. 21:36, August 27, 2010 (UTC) |
Here's what it would look like if it were the resolution of a discussion on that page, and not a vote located on another page:
File:Icon yes check v.svg | Issue resolved: The community has recently discussed or voted on merging Car with Cat, and has determined not to merge the articles. Users should not re-address this issue again, until a certain period of time has passed. 21:36, August 27, 2010 (UTC) |
That's what I would imagine this would look like. -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog)(random page) 21:36, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
