Detailed (Edit)

University - Sims University

Sims University is a new sub-neighborhood, and its university buildings are New England-inspired with some European influences.

  • Sims aged from Young Adult to Elder can attend the university.
  • Enrolling in collage can be done at any time via the phone. Players will be allowed to choose their major and how many credits they can apply to which affects the length of time players spend at university.
  • Time will move slower in the main neighborhood while your Sims are away at collage.

At the student union, there will be an option to sign up for Science group projects, lectures, study groups, etc. On the first day in Sims University at 12:00pm, there will be a "meet-and-greet", where Sims can "get to know" one another and get free items at stands. There may have a food court, along with new drinks. There may also have a photo booth that looks different than the photo booth in Showtime.

Sims can study for majors in Business, Science and Medicine, Technology, Physical Education, Fine Arts and Communications.

  • Communications majors can broadcast their own radio show.[1]

Sims can rent any of the above living quarters as well as homes in the university neighborhood. Unlike The Sims 2: University, dorms are completely customizable.

New social groups

In university, Sims can choose to join one of the three social groups:

  • Nerds
  • Jocks
  • Rebels

Sims can hang out with these groups and gain credibility, which can offer advantages to them, such as lifetime rewards.[1]

If Sims gain enough influence to the Nerds, he can become a "Video Game Developer", one of the social group careers, which can be unlocked by gaining enough influence.[1]

New NPC - Llama Mascot

The Llama Mascot will drop off packages with free items. The mascot will also provide an aptitude test for your Sim. The results will depend on that Sims' personality and traits which can provide how much financial assistance your Sim will get.

New interactions

  • Sims will be able to streak, a feature returned from The Sims 2: University.
