Quick tip if you're suggesting icons for awards. The dimensions of awards are 20x20 pixels. You can resize other stuff, but make sure they're square or they'll be skewed. Duskey(talk)(blog) 05:05, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

Award Ideas[edit source]

If you helped me out, there should be an award for doing that. It should look a plumbob with a P on it. The P stands for Pepterpepper. PepterPepper

Winning a caption contest. In doing so, a picture of a plumbob with small illegible writing above and/or below it. Trull 02:14, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Bella Goth award. For best picture of Bella Goth! ~~~~

SimPhotographer Award. Let's make photography contest... Using TS2 n TS3... Ajannaka 11:07, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

You could use this icon for that Duskey(talk)(blog) 05:05, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

A winner trophy, for when someone's a winner of something. I think we should reserve this for winning a site competition or something. Duskey(talk)(blog) 04:52, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

A cold mug of beer, so the guys won't have to hand each other flowers :s Duskey(talk)(blog) 05:05, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe a happy smiley if someone helped cheer you up or brightened your day? Duskey(talk)(blog) 08:31, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

I think it would be cool if all the awards were moodlets or somehow game-related. Examples:
A cap for editors who learn how to do complex edits or who have vastly improved their editing skills. (An image without the background would be nice, but I don't know where to find them).
This moodlet for someone who helps complete or participates in a large task or project on the wiki.
This moodlet, or this one: , for a user who has done X number of edits or a lot of edits in a short period of time.
Just some ideas. Again, they'd be better without the backgrounds, but whatever. LostInRiverview (talk)(blog) 12:58, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
Added a page on where I normally get my stuff: User:Duskey/Resources. Duskey(talk)(blog) 12:10, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
Took the liberty of adding the moodlets without the frame and in 20px size. Can't seem to locate the 'fulfilled' one atm. Duskey(talk)(blog) 20:40, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
Found the fulfilled icon; File:Balloon_ful2.png. 20px is just too small for that image to be useful; 25px is an improvement, but I know all the other awards are at size 20px so I'd lean towards not using the fulfilled icon as an award. -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog) 21:09, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

A medal might also be handy. Duskey(talk)(blog) 19:44, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

I agree with this ideas, but why they are stuck here and never went to action? ---Guilherme Guerreiro 18:48, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Who? What? Why?[edit source]

Is there a way to let people know why you got the award and who gave it to you? Duskey(talk)(blog) 13:09, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

is this award thing active?[edit source]

Is this award thing active?--Monster2821 (talk) 01:32, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Yes it is, though so far only the gifts and the birthday cake is in use as far as I know. --Duskeytalk 22:15, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Ideas[edit source]

For users who have spent a large amount of time helping others.

For users who take part in many discussions, or have given many ways to resolve a problem.

All for now. --BobNewbie talkblog 17:11, December 13, 2010 (UTC)

The issue with these, as it concerns the award box, is that in order to give these awards, the full name of the file must be given. For example,
{{Awards
|Moodlet no frame podium comment}}

Produces this:

AWARDS

The award template works by shrinking whichever image is used; the award template can display any .png image as a 20px image in the awards box, but it is generally preferred that the awards have shorter names so they're easier to type. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 19:26, December 13, 2010 (UTC)

Will renaming the image possibly help? BobNewbie talkblog 19:29, December 13, 2010 (UTC)
An admin could move the picture, I think?! --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 19:30, December 13, 2010 (UTC)
What I did (which is typically frowned upon) is I re-uploaded an identical image and gave it a simpler name.

Case in point: File:Award trophy.png - is identical to File:Moodlet winner trophy win.png -

The images are the exact same, but they have a different name. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 19:34, December 13, 2010 (UTC)
Furthermore, both will appear just as well in the awards template:
{{Awards
|Award trophy|Moodlet winner trophy win}}
Will produce this:
AWARDS
However, it's pretty easy to see which one would be easier to remember and type out. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 19:37, December 13, 2010 (UTC)

More Ideas[edit source]

I was just thinking, and I've thought of some more that we could use.

For users who are good at making fanon pages.

For users who have improved their editing skill greatly.

If anyone has any other ideas or wants to give feedback on these, just post below. --WH (Talk) 09:59, May 29, 2011 (UTC)

I like 'em :D. Zombie talkblog 10:44, May 29, 2011 (UTC)
It's a great idea Wogan! Particularly the one regarding fanon :D. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 11:15, May 29, 2011 (UTC)
Btw, to get the fanon one type Balloon books into the awards box, and to get the chalkboard one type Balloon chalkboard. I hate to say it, but maybe we should upload the dreaded duplicate image, so we can remember the names easier, e.g. change them to Award books and Award chalkboard, like all the others. --WH (Talk) 21:38, May 29, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, but we could simply move the picture, but I will have to be sure to fix them on all appearing pages. --Guilherme Guerreiro (talk here) 18:19, May 30, 2011 (UTC)

Award[edit source]

The Workaholic trait image, for someone who has written a particularly good fanon or fan fiction. Bakerychaz (talk page) 11:13, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

That's a good suggestion, IMO. I'm going to add it. :) --RoseGui (talk here) 11:17, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
When I added it, I realized the image didn't have a transparent background and since all other do, I don't know if it suits it. Does anyone have any suggestion? --RoseGui (talk here) 11:25, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry! I will try to find another image for it. I will post it here when I've found one. Bakerychaz (talk page) 13:34, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
I've already found one! The writing image. It is also used for the userbox that says "This user has written/is writing a fanon article". Please give me your opinion on it. Bakerychaz (talk page) 13:38, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
It looks amazing! :) I'm going to add it! --RoseGui (talk here) 12:03, June 30, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! And thanks for adding it! :) Bakerychaz (talk page) 12:27, June 30, 2012 (UTC)

Renew?[edit source]

I'm thinking about changing the awards from a box into something like {{Era}} template, so it appears at the top of the userpage. What do you think about this? :/ Nikel Talk Vote! 02:57, August 26, 2012 (UTC)
