Hi, S2P! Your idea sounds good; unfortunately, I'm not the best guy to ask, as I don't write The Sims Wiki News. Try pitching your idea to K6ka or LostInRiverview! But I think that's a good idea for a new competition in TSWN! — The Tim Man (TSW • AH • MGW • Contribs) 22:34, October 15, 2015 (UTC)

RE:

Nominations and applications for user rights are approved or rejected by community consensus, and "community" refers to the wiki as a whole, not just administrators. So yes, you may comment. (They are not considered "votes" — majority does not simply rule) --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 14:43, September 12, 2015 (UTC)

Questionable rollbacks

I've noticed some of your rollbacks may have been used either 1. Incorrectly, or 2. Were used in a situation where an edit summary would have been appropriate. Reverts like [1][2][3][4] and [5] seem to have undone a potentially good-faith edit, and should have been reverted using the undo function instead, with a proper edit summary. Please note that rollback should only be used:

 1. For absolute, obvious vandalism (See Wikipedia:Vandalism)
 2. To revert your own edits
 3. To mass-revert incorrect but good-faith edits, provided that an explanation was provided somewhere else, such as the user talk page of the editor in question
 4. To revert edits from a malfunctioning bot, provided that an explanation was provided somewhere else.

When in doubt, do not revert, or revert only with an edit summary. Improper use of rollback can bite newcomers and gives the wiki a bad light, and in severe cases, may result in a revocation of privileges. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

I never thought bad of you; in fact, the reason why I left you this message is because of the fact that we're human and that we all make mistakes. A mistake is only a mistake, however, if you learn from it. If my philosophy was that everyone had to be perfect and mistakes were sacrilegious, I would never have even bothered to edit a wiki. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 17:39, September 12, 2015 (UTC)
I'd like to direct your attention to [6]. While not a rollback, it was still an unexplained revert. The edit in question seemed misguided, but not in bad faith. Please provide an edit summary in such cases. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 18:20, September 24, 2015 (UTC)
The issue I brought up is with your explanation of the revert not being in the edit summary, not that it, in itself, was incorrect. As I have said, The edit in question seemed misguided, but not in bad faith. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 18:41, September 24, 2015 (UTC)

Nomination for moderator rights

Hi! I was wondering if C.Syde would mind if I had rights on his wiki since I've never edited there? I don't want to upset him. Please let me know and then I'll accept the offer, Also, sorry I haven't been editing on here that much lately. I've been busy with birthday stuff, family emergency and then having to go shopping for necessary stuff. It's really cut my editing time down to nothing. This next week should be better and I should be back to editing regularly again. Hope you have a great day! - Sapphire Moondust (talk) 15:24, September 12, 2015 (UTC)

Okay, thank you for letting me know. I accepted the rights, so now we'll see what happens. Thank you for the nomination. :) - Sapphire Moondust (talk) 15:49, September 12, 2015 (UTC)

Check It Out

Hey, Sim? Did you see my "Predator" pages yet? I came up with the family back in, I believe July, and the property. As a funny result: I turned almost every place in The Sims Bustin' Out into that type of place. Check them out and see what you think. They're Fanon: Recreational Free Street 1, Fanon: Predator Family, Fanon: Corithian Predator, Fanon: Chase Predator, and Fanon: Blaze Predator. I hope you like them.--2014ChevyGirl (talk) 20:48, September 24, 2015 (UTC)

Deleted comments

Several comments that you made to Fanon:Ezbenzer Alto have been deleted because they did not fit the topic of the fanon article. Be aware that debating or arguing with other users is generally not permissible in fanon comment sections; those sections are intended for comment on the fanon work itself. If you have any questions about this, please contact me on my talk page. - LostInRiverview talkblogcontribs 15:15, September 28, 2015 (UTC)

Featured Editor

Congratulations Sims2Player! You are the Featured Editor for October 2015! I've added the template to your user-page which you are free to move/remove. Once again, congratulations! :) ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 05:14, October 1, 2015 (UTC)

Uploading newer versions of images

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to the wiki. I noticed that you have been busy uploading newer, better versions of our existing images. That's great and all, but I noticed that you uploaded them using different filenames, and then simply replaced the images on the page they were used on. This results in the old file being abandoned and "orphaned", and just creates a new file name on the wiki. In the future, please go to the existing file page (You can access this by clicking on the image, and then clicking the file name at the top of the popup) and click the "Upload a new version" link, located on the file history tab. This will allow you to upload a new version of the file. The old file will still be visible and available in the file history, and it can be restored in case you make a mistake. Uploading a new version of the file automatically updates all usages of the file (so you do not need to manually update the file links), and also allows you to keep the same file name, which saves the hassle of having to deal with duplicate or multiple files of the same thing, and saves administrators the tedious task of having to delete the old images.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Also, if you have uploaded a new version of a file and it doesn't seem to be updating, please wait at least ten minutes instead of reuploading. The delay is caused by database lag, as it takes time for a change to be propagated and processed by Wikia's servers. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 17:18, October 2, 2015 (UTC)

RE: I want your permission

You want my honest opinion? Well, my honest opinion is I would strongly advise against listing yourself as an adopter. It is too soon since the issues you've had with another user and you're currently listed at TSW:ER. Not only are most of your edits minor, I haven't really seen a demonstration of maturity in your actions, and you (still) seem to easily misinterpret others actions as being negative, and your tone of writing towards me implies that I am against you. This isn't how an adopter should behave. Keep in mind that experience and seemingly high-level positions come through time and patience, and you can't jump the stairs. (You can't take the elevator either) In my personal experience, if you keep trying to attain a position in a short period of time, you'll usually fail and it becomes very clear then that you can't build Rome in a day. You can't build trust in a day, and you can't build experience in a day. All three of these things takes time to build. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 18:11, October 2, 2015 (UTC)

Welcoming users

When welcoming new users (in the event that User:Wikia, which normally does this automatically, is down), please use the Welcome and WelcomeIP templates rather than copy-and-pasting. See the template documentation on how to use the template (do not forget to subst them!). Thanks, --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 14:35, October 8, 2015 (UTC)

Just use similar stuff as the bathroom in STM Bianca's house, and it should be safe. Each time I come into chat, I lose video editing time :( AldoHyde 17:20, October 10, 2015 (UTC)

RE: The Sim's Pen

Yeah, I've already written my next pen blog. So yours unfortunately will have to wait for the following issue. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 05:07, October 15, 2015 (UTC)

Using the Unsigned template

Just to let you know, the Unsigned template should be substituted, not transcluded. To substitute a template, add "subst:" after the opening brackets but before the template name. For example, . Substituting a template copies the template content to the page and makes it a part of the page, so if the original template is changed, the substituted template will not reflect that change. This is important on talk pages, especially archived ones, since it's expected that content generally remains the same as it was when it was active. Thanks, --I am k6ka Talk to me!
