Robert "Bob" Newbie, Sr. is a character from The Sims series best known as the father of Bob Newbie. He is also the husband of Mags Newbie, and appeared as a playable character in The Sims 3 downloadable town Riverview. He holds the unusual distinction of being one of only two pre-created characters whose first name changes, albeit slightly, between two installments in the series (the other is John Burb): he is known as Bob Newbie Sr. in The Sims 2 and Robert Newbie in The Sims 3.

Biography

Life leading up to The Sims 3

Robert Newbie moved to Riverview with his beloved wife, Mags, and their son, Bob. He is an avid fisherman, which could be why he moved to the sleepy banks of the Simomon River. He is concerned that his son is spending far too much time indoors reading and wishes that Bob would clean up his messes and join him fishing. Bob has messy, chestnut-colored hair and only has facial hair along his jaw. At the start of the game, Robert is 12 days from becoming an elder.

Life leading up to The Sims 2

He was married to Mags Newbie, as we see on his family tree. Together he and Mags had a son, Bob Newbie, who is introduced in the tutorial of The Sims. Bob, Sr. is the grandfather of Bob, Jr.'s daughter, Brandi, who was the product of the marriage between Bob, Jr. and his wife, Betty Newbie. Bob, Sr. is also the great-grandfather of Brandi's children Dustin Broke, Beau Broke, and an unborn son. At the time of his death, Robert Newbie was bald with a full beard, looking very similar to his son except for some facial differences, their clothes and beard.

According to SimPE, his hair was black before it turned grey. He had 32 days left when he died.
