Why are the images from the articles not showing here like I have seen with other articles? Am I supposed to do some special formatting so that the image will appear here, or am I using the wrong kind of images in the articles? Icemandeaf (talk) 15:05, February 25, 2014 (UTC)

I'm not sure why either, but it seems that fanon categories cannot show thumbnails anyhow. Nikel Talk Vote! 15:36, February 25, 2014 (UTC)
But when I look at other fanon categories, there are thumbnails (except for mine of course). Take Category:Thin_Sims_(fanon) for example. Icemandeaf (talk) 15:51, February 25, 2014 (UTC)
I think it's because you used "[[Image:Filename.jpg]]" instead of "[[File:Filename.jpg]]". Can't be 100% sure however - I will edit one of the fanons in the category to test. K6ka (talk | contribs) 15:57, February 25, 2014 (UTC)
I just tried making it "[[File:Filename.png]]" instead of "[[Image:Filename.jpg]]", but there seems to be no difference using a png or using File: instead of a jpg or Image:.Icemandeaf (talk) 16:22, February 25, 2014 (UTC)
Hm, well I tried purging the category page a couple of times and its still not working. It's probably Wikia's end again. K6ka (talk | contribs) 17:47, February 25, 2014 (UTC)
I don't know what happened, but the images are showing now. Maybe there is a waiting period like 24 hours or so?Icemandeaf (talk) 03:50, February 26, 2014 (UTC)
I'm not sure what happened either, but no images show up unlike what you said. I don't see any images in Category:Thin Sims (fanon) either. Nikel Talk Vote! 08:41, February 27, 2014 (UTC)
That is interesting because I see them there. Could it be you need to refresh your browser to reload the images? In any case, I am convinced that it takes Wikia a while to get the new or changed images onto these types of pages - like 24 hours(?) - because I have now seen it happen a few times like that now. I'm guessing it's Wikia's end, because I cleared my browser cache and the images still didn't show. I'm guessing that, much like Wikipedia, information on Wikia is stored across multiple servers. There's a "master server" that handles all the submitted edits, and several "slave" servers that handle the read requests. The slaves all contain cached data to save work for the main server, so they're often outdated from upwards a few seconds to several hours. When the master server receives an edit, it sends that edit to all the slave servers so they can update. Purging a page also forces the master to update the slaves.

Many logs in the MediaWiki software is cached, and updated daily by the servers. That's why certain reports may not update until a day later because the data is cached. Oddly in this case, purging didn't work - we had to wait for the server to update itself. K6ka (talk | contribs) 15:48, February 27, 2014 (UTC)
