Dustin Broke is a pre-made teenage Sim, living in Pleasantview with his mother, Brandi Broke, younger brother, Beau, and an unborn baby brother. His father, Skip Broke, is deceased, having died in a "suspicious pool ladder accident" shortly after Dustin became a teen. He has messy blonde hair, wears a gray "Llamas" sports jersey, red sweat pants and black shoes. When first played, he is 12 days away from becoming an adult.
He's a rebel who has a job in the Criminal career track and is doing poorly in school. Even though he acts out, he wants to be told what to do. He has the same personality as his mother.
Dustin is dating Angela Pleasant, but they haven't had their first kiss yet. Both his memories and Angela's indicate that they were childhood friends, though Maxis did not tell that part of their back-story. This could be one reason they are together as teens, even though they appear to be complete opposites; and he seems to have more in common with Angela's twin sister Lilith.
Dustin is enemies with Angela's father, Daniel, who disapproves of them dating. What, if anything, Daniel thought of their earlier friendship is not mentioned. Although Dustin did lose a fight to the burglar Gordon King, the two are friends.
When the family is first played, the first thing he will do is go to school. When he returns home, his mother will lecture him about his poor grades. He will always bring Angela home, and this may be the time for him to get his first kiss with her, or, if the player chooses, to break them up.
After she's left, she will usually call for him and ask if he wants to sneak out, provided they're still going steady or, at least, still friends. The player can choose whether or not to have them sneak out. If he does sneak out, there's a chance that he will be caught by the police, and sent home.
