Forum:Changing The Sims 3 Store parameter on Template:Era
This thread is to divert your attention to Template_talk:Era#The_Sims_3_Store, where more editor input is needed.
Basically, the idea here is that the current parameter on {{Era}} for The Sims 3 Store is "STORE
". This parameter conflicts with The Sims 2 Store, and if The Sims 4 has a store (which it most likely will), then it would conflict with that too.
Here's my suggestion - we change The Sims 3 Store template to "TS3STORE", similar to what we did with The Sims 2 Store (TS2STORE), and any future games will use that same format, like "TS4STORE" or "TS5STORE".
This means that a bot will be needed to change "STORE" to "TS3STORE". My idea is to make the "TS3STORE" parameter, but the "STORE" parameter will still work until a bot changes all of the parameters. Once "STORE" is fully retired, we can remove it from {{Era}}.

Discussion[edit source]
I support the change to TS3STORE. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 19:42, September 13, 2014 (UTC)
I support this. Although if this approved, I guess we had to change the Era name from page to page... ~~.ThePeculiarMe | (talk to me) | (my mistakes) 04:18, September 14, 2014 (UTC)
- Nah, a bot would be useful in this situation. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 04:27, September 14, 2014 (UTC)
In progress[edit source]
The template has been updated right now to support both parameters, so existing pages with |STORE
will still function correctly. K6kaBOT is currently on the case, replacing "STORE" with "TS3SE". --k6ka (talk | contribs) 21:33, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
Bot task done[edit source]
The bot has gone through the 4000+ pages that use {{Era}} and has changed all the parameters from "STORE" to "TS3SE". Should we keep the "STORE" parameter or throw it out completely? I am personally leaning towards the latter, since there's no use for the conflicting "STORE" parameter now. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 01:53, September 24, 2014 (UTC)
Conclusion[edit source]
Thread is dead. Users should proceed boldly to wrap up the business conducted here, or else start a new discussion in the forum or on the Development Portal talk page. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 01:01, October 12, 2014 (UTC)
