I've seen quite a handful of TS4 Sim articles being created, such as Katrina Caliente. While I'm not trying to tell that we shouldn't create anything about TS4 Sims, we should hold off creating TS4 Sim articles until the game is released as we don't really know much about them (besides sharing last name, for example), such as their traits and their relations.

Still, there are officially confirmed Sims such as Bella and Mortimer Goth and then there's also a whole slew of promotional TS4 Sims, such as Babs O'Amour and Ollie Perdue available in the gallery if you have the Create a Sim demo. What do you think on this matter? EpicJoyBoy (My talk page!) 08:15, July 20, 2014 (UTC)

EDIT: SimGuruGraham said there will be a blog article coming up about families in The Sims 4. We could add Sim articles after that, though I'm still lenient on adding it only after TS4 is released. EpicJoyBoy (My talk page!) 11:34, July 20, 2014 (UTC)

Discussion[edit source]

I assume that any Sims shown in-game in the demos are likely to be in the game at launch, but I agree with your point. Perhaps it would be best to hold off on creating articles for these Sims, if for no other reason than that they haven't really been "confirmed" to be in the game. If they're Sims that don't seem to have any relation to existing Sims or any previous appearances in the series, they could just as easily be "example" Sims added to populate the world only to be removed before launch, or Sims brought in from the Gallery who aren't actually "canon". So, I agree with your proposal. - LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 08:33, July 20, 2014 (UTC)

Per above. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:36, July 20, 2014 (UTC)

I'm inclined to agree, considering {{{Sim4}}} is still disallowed for article use and is still in the testing phase. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 01:27, July 31, 2014 (UTC)

Resolution[edit source]

We're a week away from the release of the game. I feel that this proposal was a correct one to make, but the reality of the situation makes it pretty well moot. What should we do? -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 04:43, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

I don't have much to say but I still think we should hold off creating the Sim articles until the game is released. Nikel Talk Vote! 06:58, August 26, 2014 (UTC)
Per above. It would make more sense to keep TS4 Sim articles to a minimum, or none at all, until we get a full list of Sims available in the game. Beds (talk - blog) 16:14, August 27, 2014 (UTC)
I'm going to agree with Beds and Nikel's proposal here. As I said earlier, we should hold off creating Sim articles, or at least keeping it to a minimum until the release of the game, since we don't know much about them and if they are actually shipped with the world or not.
Side note here: The Sims 4 is releasing in Asian territories first (September 2 at midnight UTC+9/Sep 1 at 15:00 in UTC). I think creating TS4 Sim articles should be okay after that. EpicJoyBoy (My talk page!) 18:23, August 27, 2014 (UTC)
I support adding TS4 Sim articles before the official release if the article has the necessary citations from official sources. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 04:38, August 28, 2014 (UTC)
Issue is no longer relevant
The Sims 4 has been released, so the outcome of this thread is no longer applicable. LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 20:57, September 2, 2014 (UTC)
