Jasmine Rai is the founder of the Shifting Paradymes and lives with Gunnar Roque and Zoe Zimmerman. She is majoring in History, in her Freshman year. She is friends with her roommate, Zoe, and Sarah Love. Jasmine's surname is the name of an Algerian music style, referring to the fact that she is a musician, and that she has a North African skin tone.

If Jasmine's appearance is extracted to BodyShop, her facial structure will be different. Also when viewing her character file in SimPE her zodiac sign is not recognized. Strangely, Jasmine recognizes Frances J. Worthington III as her father when viewing the game files in SimPE, even though such a connection between the two is incredibly unlikely, and they do not appear in each other's family trees.

Jasmine is 60 hours away from the final exam in her first semester, when the household is first played. Like several other Sims from La Fiesta Tech, she starts off with no gender preference.
