Jocques DeBateau is one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims who resided during his lifetime in Belladonna Cove, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Apartment Life. He was the husband of Deidre DeBateau, the father of Beaumont DeBateau, the grandfather of Armand DeBateau, and the adoptive great-grandfather of Tara DeBateau. Jocques is completely resurrectable, even though he doesn't have a grave. He has the Romance aspiration, and the Cancer zodiac sign. As far as personality, Jocques is somewhat neat, active, and nice. But he is quite shy and somewhat serious.

According to Jocques' SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was blond before it turned grey. According to his age data, he had 13 days left in the elder life stage when he died. Jocques' facial structure is almost if not identical to the 4th Maxis face template in Create a Sim. Unlike several other married ancestors from Apartment Life who have memories of their spouses, he only has Mystery Sim memories. However Jocques still has the memory of Beaumont's birth.
