It's possible she married Tom for his money, since she's a gold digger and has the Commitment Issues trait. She is also the mother of Dallas and MaryKay Shallow. She is disliked by her father-in-law, Kurt. It is unknown why this is, though it is possible that he knows that June is a gold digger and doesn't really care about his son.
