A Live Picture in Picture, also known as a Live PIP, is a screen in [[The Sims]], and [[The Sims 2]], that indicates a certain event is taking place. A Live PIP is a small box, usually to the bottom left of your screen, with a live video showing what's going on.

What makes a Live PIP appear


In ''The Sims 2'', the PIP window can be moved by clicking and dragging the top edge of the box. Additionally, right-clicking on the window will cause the camera to pan over to the event, rather than instantaneously jumping to it.
A Live PIP shows the player what's going on when a [[Fire]] starts, a [[Burglar]] enters your lot, [[Clown Catchers]] come onto your lot to catch [[Tragic Clown]] etc.

Live PIPs are shown when:
*A [[fire]], [[burglar]]y, or [[repo-man]] visit occur.
*A visitor rings the doorbell.

*A Sim [[birthday|ages]].{{Vgversion|TS2}}
*[[Cockroaches]] appear.{{Vgversion|TS:LL}}
*A Sim begins stomping on cockroaches.{{Vgversion|TS2}}

*A [[fighting|fight]] breaks out.
*The [[carpool]] or school bus arrives.{{Vgversion|TS1}}
*Certain [[NPC]]s arrive or leave.
*A Sim [[energy|passes out]] or has an [[bladder|accident]].

Live PIPs can cause lag on slower computers. In both games, the player can disable PIPs in the [[Game option|game settings]].
