The Loyal family is a pre-made family from Mesa Flats, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims Pet Stories. The family consists of Stephen Loyal and his cat, Diva. Stephen is the protagonist in the Midnight Masquerade story and Diva is meant to temporarily join to the family during the story, untill her owner Celeste Girard, who is Stephen's cousin, returns from her honeymoon. In the end, Celeste lets Stephen keep Diva.
Diva starts off in the family bin like the Rambler family, and is added to Stephen Loyal's family early in the story. This can be seen by importing the untouched neighbourhood from a fresh installation into The Sims 2. Another thing that is seen by doing this is that Diva has her own family bio before joining Stephen, which says: "Diva loves being spoiled by Celeste, but also likes it when Stephen visits. Diva doesn't quite understand why Stephen is a bit aloof with her."
