Social interaction

Social interactions are any actions between two or more Sims in The Sims Series. They will either raise or lower relationship scores between the active Sims and this can result in unlocking more interactions to choose from.

In The Sims 2: Nightlife and later, interactions marked with lightning bolts are ones that appear earlier in the relationship than they normally would, as a result of chemistry between the two Sims. While good chemistry between two Sims will make it easier for all interactions to pass, interactions marked with a lightning bolt may still fail. Conversely, if two Sims are incompatible, they will have negative chemistry, and actions will fail more often.

Notes

  1. In The Sims 2, an apology is always accepted by the receiving Sim, regardless of relationship
  2. In The Sims 2, Cheer Up is not a romantic interaction, but in some releases it will trigger romantic feelings between the Sims. It will not trigger jealousy, however.
  3. In The Sims 2, Peck will not trigger jealousy among other Sims
  4. In The Sims 2, Make Out is a romantic interaction, but will not trigger romantic feelings between the Sims. It will still trigger jealousy, however. This is fixed by a mod
  5. In The Sims 2, proposing engagement will not trigger jealousy among other Sims
  6. In The Sims 2, proposing marriage will not trigger jealousy among other Sims, unless they see the two Sims kiss.
  7. In The Sims 2: Apartment Life, WooHoo in the closet will always be accepted by the target Sim, regardless of relationship.
