Why do we have to pay for this?♥Icyyy♥ 02:02, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

Why don't know I'm upset as well ;C -----Guilherme Guerreiro 16:30, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Caliente family

I didn't see the caliente siters in that video ?! -----Guilherme Guerreiro 17:08, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

After 30sec, I think (maybe i'm wrong) she says "Caliente sisters.... come back", they noticed the same thing in the official forum. --Aster09 17:14, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
Ok Thanks I was not doubtful I only wanted to know when she said that so Thanks. -----Guilherme Guerreiro 17:16, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
I don't understand why EA games distrubuted returning families for all neighborhoods because now they are all divided and it is more difficult to get for example a Pleasantview storyline in The Sims 3. -----Guilherme Guerreiro 17:19, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

I hear it too, but I changed the link to say "family" and not "sisters" since we don't know if it's their parents returning or something else. --Duskeytalk 17:43, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Yes I also heard now.Guilherme Guerreiro 17:46, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Normally, the Caliente sisters should not be born in The Sims 3, I thought, as she said "Caliente sisters", that maybe it happened the same thing for Don and the Caliente sisters and that there are just Dina and Nina in the family. Unless Barnacle Bay doesn't take place in the same time than other neighborhoods, which is pretty unlikely. But you're right, in doubt it is better to put "Caliente family". --Aster09 17:56, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

I heard "the Calientes" not sister. Let's leave it at that :) --Duskeytalk 18:05, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
I wonder if it's gonna be new family members that were not part of the Caliente family tree in the Sims 2 or what, mainly because the sisters father was half alien... Bafendo 22:56, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
Simfans has a new video of Barnacle Bay which i just added to this article. It's the same lady who did the other hands-on of BB and Late Night in Germany. This time she refers to them as the Caliente sisters from the Sims 2 but when she clicks on the house in map view it shows three sims. she didn't talk too much about them so for now it's unknown if those are Dina and Nina or some new Caliente Sisters not in the Sims 2 family tree.Bafendo 17:39, September 21, 2010 (UTC)
She says "The Caliente sisters from The Sims 2 are back", so it only can be Dina and Nina. --Aster09 17:48, September 21, 2010 (UTC)
The third person could be Tango Caliente or the father sisters, Flamenco Caliente, because Nighat Caliente died when Dina and Nina were children, oddly someone puts in the Cemetery (this edition) the sims buried but there isn´t any member returning.--Nacho 17:52, September 21, 2010 (UTC)
There's two ways this could go.. either A: They went back in time similar to Don or B: these are different Caliente sisters who are not part of the Sims 2 family tree.Bafendo 17:53, September 21, 2010 (UTC)
The Caliente Sisters from The Sims 2 are in Barnacle Bay. The Sims 3 facebook page has just confirmed it's the same sisters.[1] although now i wonder who the third sim is and how they went back in time.Bafendo 19:50, September 21, 2010 (UTC)
How are they back, AS ADULTS, they shouldn't be born yet?--Eduardog3000 21:01, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
A1: They were present when Don got sent back, and were caught in the effect. C: They went forward to Pleasantview. Dharden (talk) 21:21, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
We shall have to wait and see when someone in the community buys it and updates the info and adds pics. I hope someone uploads them to the exchange. all three. i wanna know who that third sim is.Bafendo 21:10, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
I will try to provide that info.--Eduardog3000 21:14, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

I'm starting to think that these may be the Caliente sisters:
It does seem kinda reasonable that there here, since they moved to Pleasantview on the eve of Bella's disapearance. However, the only explanations I can think of is that, like Twinbrook, Barnacle Bay takes place in a different time as Sunset Valley, or the Caliente sisters traveled either back or through time. I guess we'll find out when someone buys it. Oh! It just occured to me that Dina knew Michael when she was a teen and married him when she was an adult. EAxis is not being consistant with the story. :/ --Random Ranaun 21:29, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
i see... dina at the bar and nina sitting down, third member of their household sitting at the bar? i hope it's time travel. would be cool. don vanished back in time so they went back to find him... would be cool if that's what happened.Bafendo 21:33, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
Compare this image of the sisterhttp://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090217230724/sims/images/f/f2/Dina_NinaStorytelling005.jpg to that picture. open them in seperate tabs and zoom in on the new pic. i think you figured it out because they look so much like them.Bafendo 21:37, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

Let's keep the speculation to a minimum and discuss the facts and the article. Ever since the 2nd vid was posted we knew they were gonna be in the neighborhood. We won't know more till info from the neighborhood is added. --Duskeytalk 03:16, September 23, 2010 (UTC)

It is them in the picture. here is the household description: The driving personalities in this household are the Caliente sisters who are always fighting, flirting and generally out to have a raucous party. They are showing Luisa the ways in misbehaving. The girl at the bar whos face we can't see is Luisa. she kinda looks like betty.Bafendo 08:41, September 23, 2010 (UTC)

Barnacle Bay has been released one day early.

that's right folks Barnacle Bay is now available for 1650 Simpoints in the Sims 3 Store.[2] there are 16 new items.Bafendo 01:17, September 23, 2010 (UTC)

That's not one day early, it was always 23rd. --Duskeytalk 03:14, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
oh... wait. what time zone is this wiki set in? because i posted this last night around 8 and 9 central time. is this wiki or wikia in general on great britan time?Bafendo 08:35, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
I guess you could say that since most wiki's use UTC time. --Duskeytalk 08:44, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
Oh ok. Good to know. :)Bafendo 08:50, September 23, 2010 (UTC)

Review

First of all, Barnacle Bay is a fortune for most sim players. The 1650 Simpoint pricetag is hard to swallow. It drained me of most of my SimPoints when i bought it.

Second of all, Barnacle Bay is relatively bland. The neighboorhood is almost identical to Sunset Valley but with a little bit of Riverview as well.

The families in the world make little sense. Why are Nina and Dina Caliente the same age as in The Sims 2? Also, Agnes Seabottom is a blatant copy of Agnes Crumplebottom (it's even mentioned in her bio).

Even so, I can't hate too much. Barnacle Bay has a lot of new items (if 18 is a lot). The community lots are interesting, besides most of the Rabbit Holes which were ripped right from Sunset Valley. Hogan's Deep Sea diner is pretty funny if you get the parody.

In conclusion, Barnacle Bay is a real dissappointment, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't consider it. --72.231.189.115 22:48, September 23, 2010 (UTC)

actually Dina and Nina are not the same age as they were in The Sims 2. In The Sims 2 they were adults but with Barnacle Bay they are young adults. Just like Don. you also forgot to mention that their bio mentions nothing about how they ended up in BB 50 years before the events of The Sims 2.Bafendo 01:11, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe Barnacle Bay doesn't take place 50 years before The Sims 2 but is contemporary to Pleasantview. Maybe the Caliente sisters are in holidays in Barnacle Bay... --Aster09 11:03, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
actually The Sims 3 takes place 50 years before the Sims 2 and 25 before The Sims 1. thus they are in Barnacle Bay 50 years before the events in Pleasant View. so either time travel was involved or if this is where they are from then they might have ate a lot of Ambrosia and 30 or 40 years later drank the Elixer of Life to stay young.Bafendo 13:42, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
Bafendo, that they're young adults in Barnacle Bay and adults in Pleasantview is something of an artifact. In TS2, they - and Don - are almost at the beginning of the adult stage. So, if one were to recreate Pleasantview in TS3, they would be young adults. Also, Barnacle Bay may be somewhat disconnected from the main storyline(s). In the other TS3 'hoods, returning Sims (with the exception of Don) have been younger than they were in TS1 and/or TS2. That, by itself, marks them as prequels. However, if Nina and Dina are the only returning Sims in Barnacle Bay, there may be room for players to treat it as more-or-less contemporary to Pleasantview, if they so choose.
Mph... for all I know, they "hitched a ride" and came back 50 years later, still young. Dharden (talk) 14:13, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
It might even be that the game creators, feeling restricted by the concept of setting TS3 50 years in the past, decided to break canon and just start a totally new plot and storyline. Also, are the Caliente sisters supposed to be twins? Because if you look at their ages, they're not the same age. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 14:26, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
