Dreams[edit source]

Knowledge Sims tend to dream about objects, rather than Sims.

I am very skeptical about this statement for several reasons:

  1. How can anyone claim this statement without any supporting fact or evidence? This is not a general knowledge of the game, therefore it needs a supporting evidence that makes it true. Without evidences, casually claiming this will make the statement an opinion, not a fact.
  2. The counterpart of this statement is stated at Family. This statement ignores the fact that there are still many other aspirations. If Knowledge dreams about objects more often, and Family dreams about Sims more often, does it make Popularity / Fortune / Pleasure / Romance / Grilled Cheese / Grow Up dream about both things equally often?
  3. How much is the frequency of this "often"? Is it by personal observation? This is very weak. Imagine, if one observes 8 out of 10 first dreams are about objects, he/she claims the statement, but how is he/she certain that the next 20 dreams are not about Sims? Using "often" reasoning based on observation is speculative and weak, in this case.

I've never heard about this. Dreams are controlled by the "Dream Tracker", which produces dreams based on memories and relationships. Of course, dream trackers have never been thoroughly studied (because everyone was far more interested in the countless bugs and glitches that were never patched by EA), so I can safely assume that this statement is original research - and quite likely false. In the rare moments that I watch my Sims sleep (don't ask why) I've never seen much of a "pattern". They dream about their hobbies, random objects, their friends, their enemies, and their acquaintances. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 11:46, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
I think they dream as random as things they see while stargazing, looking at clouds, or seeing through the telescopes at day. I don't know. I still believe it's random. Nikel Talk Vote! 12:01, June 29, 2014 (UTC)
If no one can prove otherwise or counter my arguments, I suggest we take this statement down. Nikel Talk Vote! 16:45, July 17, 2014 (UTC)
In 2011 when I played the Dreamer Family and Darren and Cassandra (who'd recently moved in) were sleeping, Cassandra's dreams were mostly about herself, Darren and other Sims (that she'd met in the past). Whereas Darren's dreams were about him and objects, but not other Sims.
I never bothered to watch Sims while dreaming as of 2012 on-wards, so I'm not sure if this passes off as a fact. But it certainly wasn't my opinion. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 20:51, July 24, 2014 (UTC)
That's still not a strong evidence to prove it. It's just a personal observation. Nikel Talk Vote! 15:07, August 5, 2014 (UTC)
I guess so. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 00:08, August 6, 2014 (UTC)
